Having to do all programming exams with pen and paper.

    Much better.. Since it will be done in few hours..

    I hated that. I wouldn't say I'm completely relient on the IDE to complete some of the more basic things but in a high pressure situation like a test it's easy to forget small things and lose tons of marks

    Writing code on paper every lesson because the professor refuses to let you use a laptop.

    Programming tasks to be solved in paper... With sedecimal numbers.

    Being told to draw MS Access interface on paper. Multiple times to demonstrate the progress, step by step. Later having to show the final product on 2003 version that doesn't recognize newer version's format.

    That hurts.. At least you don't have to care about tabs vs spaces..
