So, our SMART Dean decided to have the collage WiFi MONITORED instead of blocking INAPPROPRIATE sites as blocked sites are easy to tackle...
What we did? Hosted a site using free hosting server with codes to simply get INAPPROPRIATE videos, split, and rename them and change the extension to PDF...
OUR COLLAGE WI-FI IS EXPERIENCING HUGE DOWNLOADS OF EBOOKS NOW!!! 😎😎😎😎

    @LeFlawk yeah collage... (But hey doesn't Deans happen in Univs?)
    Yeah, u can call it anything as it is a single collage university (and there are 90 such things in our country considered as tier one collages)

    Fuck yeah college..

    @LeFlawk this is really confusing 😂

    @LeFlawk being an artist as a hobby,
    Thanks for reminding me again 👍

    use a VPN service?
  • 2
    @heyheni no, VPN Service can't save u from Man-in-the-middle attack (or monitoring) as since everything has to pass through the router no matter what.
    And VPN was the reason they switched from blocking those sites to Monitoring the activity.. And also IP spoofing is not gonna work as u have to sign in the wifi land server using your own username and password...

    Change Mac-id to someone who you are really hate and do whatever u like

    @Vishwash VPN is gonna work if you have encrypted connection between your device and VPN. Router will have no idea what u are talking about, it will just transfer data.
  • 2
    @mr-crazyhacker it isn't like that...
    They track us by the Username and Password we MUST HAVE TO ENTER IN THE BROWSER AFTER CONNECTING TO THE WIFI.. the hotspot is basically open, but just like u do in a McD, u have to sign in with the username and password which is different for every student

    @sSam
    1. They are not fools... (I m studying in a tier 1 " IT"collage)
    2, if the router catches encrypted data, it will draw enough suspicion for them to simply walk into my room and expect a reasonable reason lol,
    While if they ask for PDFs, I have a reasonable answer ready for them.
    Thanks for ur suggestion

    @Vishwash there's already encrypted data getting transferred when you visit https websites. Since nowadays most websites use https the only thing they can see is what sites you visit and content of it is encrypted. If you use VPN they won't be able to see what sites you visit.
  • 1
    @sSam of course they won't see...
    And that's why they will be suspicious
    AS THEY CAN FIND DATA BEING TRANSFERRED BUT THEY CANT SEE..
  • 1
    @sSam @sSam that's it.. They can see the damn website... And VPN can't stop them from seeing the website as THEY ARE TRACKING FROM INSIDE!! and those data packets have to ACTUALLY PASS THROUGH THE DEVICE.
    Don't get me wrong , they are experts at that...(better to say, that fukin monitoring guy) 😛

    @Vishwash if you use VPN they can't see the websites. You set up a private encrypted connection between your device and a VPN server, only you and the server know how to decrypt data. No man in the middle can understand what you send.

    @Sully no that's not it.. THEY MONITOR THE USAGE OF THE COLLEGE WiFi
  • 1
    @sSam that is what I am talking about buddy! If they can't understand it,
    They will be suspicious and
    I WILL BE THE ONE TO BE INTERROGATED..
    The suspicion is the evil too...
  • 2
    @Sully Its not that much a problem bro, my Jio sim gives me 1 GB data per day... The actual thing was finding a solution as I had taken the situation as a challenge... Not because I am a porn addict 😛. I really love taking these as a challenge..
    PS- It is one of the best colleges I can get!
    So, It was all about CHALLENGE!!

    @Vishwash so using encrypted dat isnt allowed at your school? Get running.

    And please learn to say college. Its annoying.
  • 2
    @Codex404 its not like it is not allowed... But it simply draws attention

    @Codex404 sry for annoyance btw

    What is this thread, MIM cannot penetrate VPN are you high

    They can't target everyone using 'encrypted' traffic, that's literally the whole internet.

    What they can do is target anyone hiding the domains they visit by using a VPN, where all traffic will be clearly going to a single VPN domain

    edit:

    @sSam this guy lol 😮‍💨
