@b2plane doing what I love is in my case in this country quite profitable. I have no idea why it's so hard for you to get outsourcing job. Maybe Serbia is just not a popular country for it or smth. Don't know how it works

Do you live in the countryside or somewhere remote? Most European cities are pretty livable without a car (even if most Eastern European countries are far behind the Western ones). I think buying groceries and living, in general, is way easier because we usually have less sprawl than in North America. Having a car is usually the most expensive way of transportation.

@chonky-quiche I took it more as him venting concerning his current position. Sometimes it is hard to keep a positive attitude when you are surrounded by a lot of what could constitute as misery. No positive mindset can outshine misery. So i get the OP and I really do feel for his situation.
To op, here is to hoping that you can leave your country to better places man. -
@AleCx04 yeah but I’m speaking more to the trend of OP’s rants. Also, compared to a lot of suffering in the world, it sure is inconvenient but there’s a lot worse situations he could be in - this is definitely not “misery”. The only person making it miserable to deal with is OP. People always think they have it bad, and that the whole world is against them somehow, but jeez dude trust me when I say that it could be A LOT worse. It’s kinda annoying when people complain and want pity. I’m in loads of debt and I don’t even have a car but u don’t see me complaining.

The relative costs are high too in high paying cities. If you living with your parents, how but utilizing that to build your business.

@b2plane wow what are you in the Balkans market? I know a Bulgarian guy with a bunch of connections who are so desperate for devs they were actually looking in the UK (not that they found anyone that could survive on their budget). It's not much but if you throw a portfolio and/or a CV at me I'll see what I can do.

@chonky-quiche misery is subjective, I am not him, neither are you. His threshold is different from yours and mine. But if the OP wants to vent here about his situation as a professional developer making peanuts on a country that requires his/hers services yet by paying peanuts in here then I am all for it, it is part of the rant in devrant. Personally, I believe that people well versed in an area of the whole spectrum of Computer Science should live a decent life, since his/her abilities are not found that often. @We3D the part about how to become happy is good. It's all about creating and solving problems. E.g. you're lonely (problem) -> buy cat (solution). But that gives small problems like you need to buy a litterbox and food. But after solving those little problems you become happier. Maybe that programming makes happy / addicting because solving little problems full time

I can. I'm quite the opposite of most of the cases. When I'm high I'm more motivated to do more than when I'm not...everything becomes more interesting, even stuff like making the bed or washing the dishes...
whenever I start doing I'm more into that till the point of perfection... have to stop myself some times w/ the thoughts like : that's enough man, nobody will notice that half cm off ( for the bed sheet, when it comes about a site it gets pixel perfect alignment... ) =D -
@We3D after three puffs of that stuff I'm knocked out but I can code while completely drunk. But rarely drink

@retoor if u combining them the trick is 2 first smoke and not the oposite... and everyone has its fav stimulant after all. I for example am reducing the coffee and drinking more tea and trying to get more sleep time ( gfs strict routine helps a lot 4 dat, when around )

It's a difficult situation, I understand you. But don't despair, life doesn't end. Once upon a time, I had a situation a little better than yours, and I wandered onto a site like https://gamblizard.ca/best-canadian... and won a good amount although I was ready to lose everything. It sounds crazy, and I didn’t believe it myself right away, because I’m not a gambling fan. Money can come at you when you least expect it, but you have to do at least something.

I am stranded in the middle of highway because my car engine failed. My 3000$ 10 year old garbage car is full of problems. My life keeps sinking lower and lower each day in every possible way. My parents are so broke that they have to borrow money for food and gas from me, who is also broke (i have about 1500$ left to my name which is over 150,000 (6 figures) in my currency). I sank into the new low. How am i going to buy food and bring groceries to home without a transport such as car? My life has became harder
People who have a car (any car), people who have a job, and people who can afford to go to the gym aside from any other optional life activity -- have no idea how lucky life they are living
I now have to abandon programming because $3.75/hour salary is not going to help my situation right now. I have to focus only on getting money and nothing else. People with money have no idea how happy and lucky they are...
