I want to make a worm that recognizes when the user is using headphones and occasionally play a silent footstep sound behind them.

You cannot play 2 audio streams at once I guess. My thought is that you need to take the current audio stream an create a single new one which already contains your creepy as sound + the source sound :)

Take a footstep out of it and play it very quiet. This video (and therefore the footstep) sounds extremly realistic with headphones.

@Shonen I think that depends on the system, but I believe a modern OS comes with the necessary tools

Maybe a simple chrome extension that you install when your friend isn't looking might be a funny thing to do
