Freelancing can often be much harder than a "normal" job. Keep that in mind when making the decision. But seeing that you have already done it a bit as a designer, you should understand that. Coding is just a small part of it. Marketing, billing, and all the other admin BS is the hard part and most time consuming.

Just my 2 cents. I freelance part time, just for some extra cash.

imTachu4668y@ryanmhoffman Sweet! I would also like to freelance occasionally but these sites like freelance.com and upwork.com seem a nightmare to get started. Any pointers? :) (where to look?) imTachu4668y@ryanmhoffman Sweet! I would also like to freelance occasionally but these sites like freelance.com and upwork.com seem a nightmare to get started. @imTachu the competition on those sites is ridiculous. I just started looking up small local businesses in my area and reaching out to them. It takes persistence but once you get a yes it's totally worth it. I got a couple clients that way and they referred a few more to me.
