Awesome book, it genuinely saved me months of aggravation reading other people's code jungles. Uncle Bob FTW
-
donuts236727y@jamescodesthing what about Code Complete, the Effective Engineer, The Clean Coder, ...
-
@billgates all of them bossman... and the accompanying video series. Uncle Bob! All hail!
-
The book is good, I am somewhere around the middle now...
Thanks for the recommendations @billgates -
donuts236727y@needToRoll np, from my own experience I think if you read thru Code Complete, it kinda touches on everything and you can cherry-pick n skim thru the others.
I finished Effective Engineer like in maybe 5hrs total. Most interesting part was the last section about teams. All the rest, minus the personal stories, I was like "yes I know! That's what I've been telling all the teams I've been on for years.... But they just don't get it..." -
@billgates code complete made take the determination to pursue programming. An amazing read.

donuts236727y@gitcommit well for me these books just made me realize how many developers are just script kiddies...
And yes helped me stop kicking myself... But I still want to punch others
