rehman15447y@R5on11c atleast I haven't heard from any mac user that they got any problem with their wifi drivers and you could just look at ubuntu forms see how many people complaining for the same problem
-
R5on11c10557yOh no, no problem. I was serious, you are probably better of with a mac... you specifically.
-
rehman15447y@R5on11c. Okay just for info so far I have tried ubuntu unity, gnome, kali linux, parot os, elementry os
I didn't really tested kali but all of othere were hell annoying, buggy and didn't let me do my work -
R5on11c10557yListen man... either Debian or Ubuntu should do the trick. If you can't get your hardware to work properly, remember that the error always sits behind the keyboard.
If you don't have the time / effort / knowledge / whatever to properly set up your distro properly, just buy a mac... -
rehman15447y@hausen how do you really know you're new laptop is compatible? I mean ia there any recommendations from linux from any where ?
Because the laptop I got was pre Ubuntu installed too and vendor told me that its most compatible with linux huhhh -
R5on11c10557y@hausen depending on the choice of hardware, yes.
There might be some "exotic" laptops that have hardware that isn't supported by any linux distro, but those weren't designed for linux to begin with.
It might even be the choice of hardware that brought him all the trouble, but if he really insisted on having exactly that laptop (which i doubt) he would have to deal with the consequence of going through the pain of configurating it properly.
His first mistake was probably to not look up the compatiblility of his hardware online... -
rehman15447y@R5on11c okay I have the time to setup things one time but this is really shitty to deal with things in middle of work
-
R5on11c10557y@rehman i can understand that this might cause quite the hassle. But getting new hardware without proper knowledge about the software compatibility is nothing to take lightly, especially as developer.
-
rehman15447y@hausen I agree actually hardware is not my field I just do believe on vendor whatever they say
-
rehman15447y@hausen yea that was specifically made for Ubuntu and as I told Ubuntu pre installed. I love working on Linux its such a powerful os my work gets done quicker then windows but I really hste facing these problems again and again
-
@Torbuntu @jpichardo @matsaki95 @mrtnrdl fancy trying to help this fella out?
Have you enabled proprietary drivers? -
@rehman Might take a little because I know some people are still asleep of the mentioned ones but give it a little and there'll be a group of people who'd love to help you out!
-
rehman15447y@linuxxx thanks man I'll wait for help otherwise I am.thinking to.go with core debian 9
-
@rehman Sounds great man! And feel free to mention me when having linux troubles :)
-
Don't mind helping either - went through enough trial and error myself to get things working.
-
suprano38307yI guess I was a fortunate soul to not have this issue with my laptop running the same version you're talking about.
-
rehman15447y@Torbuntu im connected but it doesn't browse anything even more weird than this is sometimes Skype is working
-
@Torbuntu try to set this in your /etc/resolv.conf:
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 308.67.222.220
(or whatever dns servers you want, these are from OpenDNS)
