Create a profile on Freelancer.com or Upwork. In the portfolio, display your past projects, links to previous works, etc. Set your skills and search jobs based on those skills.
Will be difficult to land the 1st gig, but once you have, a positive client feedback will help you land more.
Best of luck :) -
sambenge427yIt's different for everyone. As @GrizzlyMagnum said, the hardest part is landing your first job. Once you do that, things get a lot easier.
Without a portfolio, it's incredibly hard to be taken seriously. Your best bets are to try 100 Days of UI and publicly share your results, or ask around your family and friends. Word of mouth is key.
I started by creating a complete product for my Computer Science A-Level coursework, and I've managed to get several local schools wanting it for a nice annual subscription. Then, one school liked my product so much that they wanted me to make them a tracker app, and so on.
I really wish you the best of luck. I've been trying to get off my feet for many years and only recently has it taken off. Stick with it! -
Ya, as @GrizzlyMagnum said, getting clients in start is difficult... Later as ur portfolio increases and due to recurring clients, u get more and more work... Best of luck...

Use LinkedIn and recruitment agencies to find a contract job. If you have a good profile you should have your first contract in no time.
