rangler1107yI started with python, there's a guy on youtube that has a great series of tutorials. Search "python plays gta" and check his channel. Good luck

github95487y@DevOg as mentioned earlier by @abch Andrew Ng Coursera is a great way to start.. if u r completely unaware of the various sub domains of ML, it will guide u to identify different types of ML problems.. apart from this, nowadays deep learning is very trending.. I haven't started myself into it, but in simple terms, it's a multi layered Neural Network.. and in Andrew Ng course, neural network is covered.. so you will get good exposure to basics..
I consider till few years, until deep learning is completely ruling the AI and ML field over all other algos, starting with this course shud be must.. it's well structured with theory, quizzes and programming assignment.. though the language is Octane, but the logic remains same in other languages too.. Certain mathematical functions like optimisation methods are default available in octane, which may take sometime to find equivalent method in other languages if you want to implement the logic in say Python.
This course is like the base.
