You have to give it to Crysis devs. A game from 2007 that I tried on my setup

32 GB GDDR5 RAM.
nVIDIA RTX 3080M
AMD 5900HX 8 Core
1TB NVME SSD

Ultra settings hit about 45-50 FPS and I have to plug earphones in to zone out the laptop fan sound.

That is because its running on AMD 5900 HX 1 Core.

I believe a Cry engine 3 version was released that runs on multi-cores.

games like The Sims run shit regardless on how much Power your PC has. I noticed that, when i was playing that game with a bunch of Addons on a way overpowered machine, and it was lagging exactly the same as on my old Box from back in the day, when that game was new lol 😂

Games are weird beasts, a certain older version of Minecraft FTB runs slower the better your CPU is, apparently due to mods being too smart and spawning workers that then livelock.

I think my favorite thing about general purpose engines like Unity, Unreal and Godot is that the inherent madness in game development is sort of standardized so that people know what not to do.
