I get that fingerprint authentication is very convenient but I'd never use it (not even for privacy reasons that much).

When someone guesses/gets your password you can just say "alright let's change my password"

Imagine that with fingerprints: "yeah sure let me change my fingers"

But how would you even guess a fingerprint? That's the whole point of biometrics

You can cut a small piece of your finger and rearrange the fingerprint... Sounds legit to me :)

I will always use a fingerprint for the convenience. And I know this is kidding but you can't really guess someone's finger print... well not within the century at least (unless you're the FBI).

Still absurd to me that finger print locking isn't protected by the 4th amendment.

@chowdercake that's actually pretty easy. You can use plastic surgery, full face masks or colored lenses. It not cheap, but it's not difficult either.

@DavidBittner it isn't _easy_, but it isn't hard either, it sure is expensive, time consuming and not easily reversed, but it isn't hard to get a picture and get modified to look alike.

@DavidBittner yeah, Apple has a good track record for security, but I still want to see a real life demo (with testing for false positive and negatives) before I believe it.

You have 20 fingers (normally). You can use any finger for auth and change regularly. The password is required after 3 wrong attempts of fingerprint auth. Guessing the right finger in 3 attempts has a probability of only 0.15. Not perfectly safe, but not completely vulnerable.

Somehow her fingerprint can't unlock anymore though.. But mines can
