31 confirmed deads in 1 day...
A large one almost reached my house, saved by two man with construction machines. Still houses burned, gás bottles exploding like shotguns at a distance...
It's the end off the summer...
And now im at work, a new fire started close by...

So... The number of deaths are incrising...
Got out early from work because a new fire started on the closest Village...
Picked up a shove , old cloths, my army boots and whent put putting out small fires (in my Village, there are fires in almost every City) ... Because this fire burned narround 50km in a line over night...
Makes me sick... So many people looking and taking selfies and small fires burning everywhere...
Picked my car and whent out looking for places to help...
Putted out a área with small fires close to houses while 20s people were watching....
They helped by talking and taking pictures of the crazy dude putting the small fires alone.
Then whent to find more...
Because the Woods are still burning from below there are fires restarting everywhere....
Putted down a Bigger one (a pile of pine wood starting burning from inside close to houses...)
Well... My trusty army boots made their last mission and I got burned but its one less fire to worry... And this time got help from the next house owners...

I didnt knew that Portugal was having wildfires problems, was it the summer heat or what?

@legionfrontier we always have wildfire problems every damn year.

We already had a big wildfire in June that took 64 lives. With this one it's a total of at least 95 people that lost their lives due to wildfires this year in Portugal.

Ophelia storm helped, heat too, 36c, no rain for months but the mayhem it's all on the authorities. They say they were surprised :(

Also plain incompetence and politics.
Fireman chiefs with actually knowledge of fires were removed from command. Hell, the guy who was second in command of the fireman when 64 died was actually promoted and is now in charge of civil protection authority.

Although we have wildfires every year this was the worst this close...
And because the Woods on this area were planted to gain terrain to the sea, if we loose the trees we may be floded again...
