Anyway, personally, I don't think I would be able stay home for that long... I'd ask to temporarily change my role to a consultant or something -

I need insurances that it would be impossible to fire me and even cheaper to keep me on.

What happens if you break your hand/arm/wrist and it requires an arm sling (picture attached)? Can you still work or what? I'm assuming it varies from company to company or something. Do you have anything in place for preparation for this event?
