Life at work these days:

Manager: we’re not getting enough done
My calendar: 1/3 week filled with scheduled meetings

Manager: we need to use ChatGPT intensively. We'll go a lot faster.
Me using ChatGPT to get it to write an automation script: 2 hours wasted with no success
Me starting again from scratch to write the script: 15 minutes to achieve the desired result.

ChatGPT is overrrated. Try asking it how to receive firebase cloud messaging on ios, it will skip the important part of having to pay 99$ and get registered as apple developer.

@asgs what’s funny is that my manager has been around since the genesis of the project some 7 or 8 years ago. He’s actually the main architect. So obviously between someone who has a few months experience on the project (me) and someone who’s been around for such a long time, there’s gonna be a hell of a difference in velocity.
I mean it’s well architected but the codebase is gigantic and there are many gotchas I need to learn along the way. ChatGPT is not going to give me the knowledge of the inner workings of the monster. It’s only with time that I’ll get to a level where I’m a lot more comfortable and efficient
