Eqb814517y@Torbuntu I personally have no issues with Window 10, sorry about the laptop but you as well as me both know there probably is a reason behind it crashing, also it's impossible support every kind of hardware and individual setup out there, and then again nobody's perfect, Microsloth could have genuinely fucked something up, e.g. incompatible drivers or something.

I'll rant about Windows way more likely than about Linux not because it has less quirks, but because it's so annoying to debug.
On Linux, all log files (will about 90% of them) are in one place and every fucking program logs at least errors there.
On windows you have to have very lucky to find meaningful log files if something behaves strange (the event log is nothing compared to Linux logs either). -
Cyanite84917yWindows 10 works great on my desktop (upgraded from windows 7) but my moms laptop (upgraded from 8.1) was totally fucked.. And she's one of those.. "Don't install anything outside of the store" types.

After using Windows for 10 years and Linux for 3 years, I would say if you want Windows (> 7) to run without any hiccups, then turn off "Fast boot" feature. BTW you'll notice some delay while starting and shutting it down.
But I prefer Linux for development as I feel it's easy to do many things here. -
@dontbeevil I've noticed my system is getting less error prone if Fast Boot is turned off.
While Fast Boot is turned on, Windows is messing up with starting of services and installation of updates. You need to restart your system every now and then as turning off Windows and turning it again is not same as restart while Fast Boot is turned on.
Fast Boot is just mad hibernation. -
@paKanhu My wife experiences the same problems. Sometimes the system won't even start from hybrid sleep (you have to discharge the RAM before it boots again).

@AnonymousDev Yeah I suspect that to be the culprit for some time. But I was too lazy to do it yet. :P

cursee165987yA real chef will rant about a freaking knife sharpness and weight and handle and all that shit. Because a real chef knows what he is holding.
Us? We are happy as long as the knives in our hands can cut some stuffs or stab some people.

For being a community based around developers, the amount of people managing to fuck up Windows and then blaming the OS while both my 9 year old brother and the old next door lady keeps theirs running perfectly fine will always be a mystery to me. If you are a developer stop making excuses of how a operating system works and get clever enough to work with it instead of against it. I've been using and developing on Windows for the past 7 years and to be frank rarely do I ever encounter the shit some people post here, mind boggling I would even say pebcak. And just to be clear, I'm not a fanatic, Linux is a beautiful OS.
There I had to get that off my chest, have a nice day.
