Burnout hit me. I cant fucking function. I feel extreme tiredness. My brain cant think or work. In fact im feeling numbness in my brain! How can my brain become numb? Thats ridiculous! This has to be a mild burnout or some bullshit. Way too much excessive work and mental pressure. I need a break and this is gonna cost me at least 1 but full day of rest it seems

More you will wait to rest, more you will need to rest.
    Take care

Real burnouts typically take weeks or months to recover from, so I’ve been told.
Maybe fatigue is a more appropriate term to describe what you’re experiencing. Unless you realize a day or even several days of rest aren’t enough.

I was recently feeling very tired. So I took a week off. Honestly wasn’t enough and I went back to work still unrested. I may not be too far from a burnout myself. I’m definitely not enjoying my job right now

@black-kite thats called a mental breakdown which is the final stage of a burnout. The boss level which cannot be defeated. I've had 2 mental breakdowns in my life. In 2021 june and in 2022 june. Both caused and provoked because of useless garbage school. It was so horrible i dont wish a mental breakdown to anybody. Fuck that bullSHIT

My burnout lasted more than a year.
I stopped coding altogether, even started to look at other careers and studying a bunch of different things.

From what I understand, burnout is essentially a hormone imbalance.

I always look at it in this very dumbed down way: In order to activate yourself, you need a hormone called cortisol. When you have too much stress, your cortisol depletes and you have no energy to do anything.

You can compensate in the short-term with adrenaline (by getting angry), but that is not very practical in the long run.

Solution is to rest well, eat well, and physical exercise. And to accept that recovery takes time.
