1500eur/month after taxes. Most say I'm underpaid, but this is the only fully WFH Rust position I can get
-
The joke stands just because companies wanted to make more money by removing your ability to repair the car yourself.
Try to find a service manual for a new car. Or try to replace headlamps on a BMW, just to find out you need to go to an official service, for them to serialize the part with the car's computer... It's a distopian nightmare -
Enter a blood pact with them. These are some great colleagues.
-
@jespersh But the thrill never stops :D
But in all seriousness, it's a bitch that my company avoids cloud services like a plague. So we are our own shitty data center 😔 -
@g3t0r Found a backup, but it was infected. Ended up rebuilding all services and reinstalling the database. It's fairly alright now.
There is a golden rule every IT admin should follow. You do not negotiate with terrorists ;) -
@scor My english is quite broken it seems.
I did work for the whole week to restore the damn system including overtime.
I didn't sleep in the office tho, that was the best part, finally getting back home and sleeping in own comfy bed for the 6 hours I had ^^ -
I mean managies is tad long... I prefer Nagies, since they do nag a lot ;D
-
Congratulations 🎉
-
@AvatarOfKaine I mean it's somewhat wildly fitting for you, mate. Although my head was bashed in with a mace ;D

Let's f***iiiiiiiing gooooo!!!

@Augmental Many Russians (and surprisingly non-russian decent due to Putin's cult) do and therefore are subhuman, but as far as I know it's a minority. Most are just victims of circumstance of being born in the wrong country.
Countries were born from necessity to express violence on a mass scale and all countries have the capacity and capability to start wars, yet only democratic ones leave it to the majority. So... If I understand correctly you want Russians who escape to be more democratic, and feel hatred towards any monopolistic entity of power? -
@Augmental Just because a person is in a certain group he cannot be held reliable if he did not directly influenced the action.
If that wouldn't hold, we would punish not only a person, but also his family, since they were "enablers".
When we can see clear signs, that the person is actively trying to fix what happened even if he is in a certain group, we can only feel sorry for the person that found himself in a position like that.
Writing in general sense, since it applies for many people. -
Although I feel a lot of hate for the Russian government. I can't exactly understand, why would you feel guilty for actions of other people.
Stay strong and try to check if you're eligible for political asylum where you are right now.
Your fight is not in vein, and we all appreciate you from the depths of our hearts -
Information must be free (entertainment does not apply here though).
Golden rule is great also.
Fuck central authority. -
That's just casual browsing 4chan

@Demolishun It's a service a lot of developers do use on a daily basis. I'm not exactly sure what you're implying.
-
@Demolishun I'm pretty sure he's referring to stack overflow survey, where Rust is most beloved language for a long time
-
This a million times what @zlice wrote.
It's like day and night how you approach issue solving on Windows and on Linux.
It's so much faster and much more liberating, to be able to look at the source code to diagnose your problems.
Also you don't have to deal with "A problem occurred" issues.
Also I must mention the communities. Most software have a small crowd who develops one or another piece of software. Just being able to talk with them you can learn a shitton. It's incredible how much they know. -
The situation there is horrific. I'm really glad that people are protesting and the west is actually doing something, instead of writing aggressive letters.
-
Welcome to the club.
Is there anything specific keeping you there? -
Yes, buying books in humble bundle.
If there is a specific book I need I often turn to piracy, though. -
@zemaitis Can't wait for some quality rants from you mate
-
Is this some strange way to dis education?
-
@Midnight-shcode Then the EU is truly retarded
-
EU still wants people to travel between countries and slowly merge cultures, so the exemption to "leisure travel" doesn't surprise me at all.
Also most private jets are not private, but registered to a limited liability entity, therefore are not exempt. -
Don't overwork yourself, mate.
Although there are probably serious reasons why other devs abandoned ship. -
There is always sourcehut. No bullshit added.
-
@blindXfish It does look like a mansion level room, I'll say
-
I swear to god, I thought that wall was a huge ass screen...

Is Windows 11 really that good?
