@Crismon True. She is a great girl, but it was just impossible to bring our life together. In addition to cultural barrier and risking being ostracized by both of our family because of all the differences between us, the travel restrictions was making a nail in coffin for our future together.

But it was a great learning experience. I'm careful with online friendships since then.

I hope she's not living in pain over me. Her finding me on the most unexpected platform after this long gap makes me worry about her a bit.

Anyways, we are now connected on LinkedIn. Not sure what's the point of it though. But I'm not gonna engage in chat or try to meet her ever.

@molaram She lives in another country. We would have sucked off eachother if we had a chance to meet. At some point, the online sexting and stuff was not enough anymore for us.

But fuck the corona and travel restrictions, I have been trying to get to her country since last September and still it is impossible to go to her country because of travel ban. Not to mention, to travel to another country to meet and do something sounds psychotic and suicidal in these times.

But life has to move on. I personally believe it was a good decision that I stopped contact with her despite having loving her. Things have changed a lot. Though it is still my wish to meet her, I don't know if it is right to do that because she's now married to someone else. So I'm just gonna not try or even think about ever meeting her.

@Midnight-shcode Arranged Marriages do still breakdown here, but they seem to work better especially if families have good synergy between them.

@SortOfTested That is pretty true. Non Resident Indians, especially those who are settled in the western countries like US are more patriotic about India than anyone but don't want to live in India. The irony!

Update on my case, my father has this inferiority complex that I don't have enough educational qualifications and I'm not at least 2 years older than her.

Not a deal breaker for me, and if it's not a deal breaker for the girl and the girls family, I don't see any problem.

@AkshayTolwani I checked out local stores last week and they only have lower variants and that too just 1 stock.

And the crazy thing is that even the lower variant is soo expensive for them that when i ask the shops for higher spec model, they kinda get uncomfortable and it makes me feel I'm ridiculous for wanting higher spec.

So, i just don't feel comfortable shelling out that much money for the laptop through them.

I'm okay with not having web cam. I don't remember using web cam on a laptop for personal calls and since this laptop will be strictly for my hobbies and entertainment, I won't be using it for work calls.

Apart from that, i love the led matrix.

@Demolishun More powerful because G14 is using the latest Ryzen processors.

It's also easy to carry.

Update: I got the job and I'll be living the company after helping with onboarding and training of new recruits.

@F1973 Okay, the advantage for me at current job is that I am kind of non-repaceable ( customer facing )

It's a growing company with just 24 employees. And I'm kind of the expert in my team which currently has only 2 other people.

One of that guy is a recent hire that I trained. And he is intended to work for other timezone.

So, there is no way they will layoff me unless they might find my hint offensive.

@SortOfTested It's as if the govt was too dumbfuck and actually thought that a lockdown would magically prevent pandemic in the country which has high population density, poor infrastructure, poor cleanliness and has lots of poor people.

The early unplanned lockdown has dissolved the concept lockdown itself. People and authorities are not gonna take it seriously again like they did first time because of the false hopes and promises.

@SortOfTested The worst thing is that, after all the show off lockdown, the govt decided to end lockdown with no proper measures or infrastructure to handle it when the cases started rising and effectively putting the country in an even worst state also in terms of economy.

I feel bad for those people who got beaten the shit out by police in the early days of lockdown.

@mr-user @devAstated must be speaking from the high "WFH" privilege. They don't understand the plight of real common people. As it is evident from there comments, for these guys, going out means just partying or fun time. I hope they are not blind that they are not seeing majority of common people who live in day to day earnings with jobs that can't be WFH.

@SortOfTested The lockdown was announced with just 4 hour notice and was told it will last just 21 days. However, it lasted more than 2 months!

People were suddenly unemployed. I'm not talking about IT folks, I mean regular day wage labourers who are mostly migrants from other parts of the country.

They had no other option than to go back to be with their family when they are jobless and struggling to get food when almost every street side shops are closed because of the lockdown.

As a result of this, even under the lockdown thousands of such migrants were too desperate to go home. Many walked thousands of kms by foot to their home. Some died before they could reach.

When govt finally allowed transport ( not free ) via rail for these people to go back to their place, the railway stations were filled with migrant labourers with no social distancing or whatever.

@neeno Yea but honestly, I'm worried of getting singled out. Given the current situation with lockdown, it would be impolite to ask them about moving out.

Last night after I wrote this 2 of the guys who had a drink ( i also finally caved in and drank ) and rode neighbour's 4 yr old kid's bike and pissed them off.

Now I'm also looking at the possibility of getting kicked out along with them from our apartment.
