I appologize, I just remembered to add the joke tag, but its too late (editing disabled after timelimit).

@ilPinguino If that is what draws you, definately pursue it. First responders are essential (anybody that had ever needed one can attest to that) and few people feel the call to it. As a dev one can trudge along without much passion without much concequence, and likewise success can feel insignificant; and although we all hope that if we find our selves in a position to respond selflesly in an emergency, without training or some driving passion, it might not be the case. But since this responsibility falls onto first responders, that internal passion to act is essential imo. If you feel this, and choose to pursue it: thanks for choosing to accept this call for the benefit of us all! <3

Glad I'm not the only one this happens to! lol

You should tell then to say no. Uber or take public transportation. I mean it is possibly life and death...
-
@python3 Basically, but with C as surrogate :P

Does java have a switch statement?
Also, shouldn't System.exit arg be -1 ( or 1 or 2) for error? O thought exit code of 0 means "all is well"? [*NOTE: I haven't used much java]
I can fully understand not using a feature before introducing it, but in this case, Im not certain that it what's happening... lol -
I recommend the entire soundtrack from "Celeste"

If you don't marry her, I will ;P

@haze also the precidence of postfix/prefix and addition opperators (as well as their symantic meanins) differs by language. For example in c++ the post/prefix have highest precedence, addition the lowest. Likewise in java, however the pfixes have right-to-left associativity, so of those operators, the rightmost ones are performed first. Etc...

Here's a good test: when you wake up first thing in the morning before coffee even, pull up some code you wrote a week ago, if when skimming through you say: "WTF", you need more comments.

Reading through some of your post history, it sounds to me like you may have clinical depression (at a minimum) You should think about talking to a doctor. Medications such as SSRI may help. I hope you dont take offense or feel stigmatized because its psychological, just like cancer, it can happen to anybody at anytime. Best of luck

Kudos for recycling and using recycled products, using a reusable rag to wipe instead of wasteful toiletpaper, shutting off and unplugging all electronics at home when not in use and when nobody is home, bathing in the bathtub and using the toilet many times before flushing, instead of wasting water by showering and flushing after a single use, and all the other things you do!
Because, surely, you would have walked the walk before climbing atop that soapbox to talk, right?
<3 -
Also, clean your cooling fans and make sure the vents are clear. Heat kills electronics; it will melt the solder from the components.

Usually naked, but sometimes I have pants on. ;s
-
@sleek Apologies, my mistake, I must have missed it.
-
This is exactly how I killed my very first conputer. Turns out Windows 95 needs those to run, who knew! (Def not 10 yr old me ;P)
-
Its the sound you make when you've been at it all day, and you just give up. It starts with your lips together and you blow air out like a "motorboat"

-
@phreakyphoenix I'm not a voyeur, but I would love to see that ;P
-
This is what drove me to write a little program and just start generating random strings based on constraints, Im not gonna remember the one they force me into choosing anyways lol.

I see what you did there ;s

rosettacode?
specifically:
https://rosettacode.org/wiki/... -
Sounds like he actually cares about the project. Instead of providing insight and work for free alot of devs would keep quiet about knowing the cause and snigger to themselves while watching the team flounder helplessly hoping they come groveling at thier feet for help (*insert evil laughter here)
-
But he must have read his contract through before signing right? I mean you should fully understand what you are agreeing to. It's in the best interest of both parties to fully understand what they are expected to provide, and what they are receiving in return.

wow, thought I was the only one lol
