I kind of know that feeling buddy...
7 years ago I got a job as a engineer in another state... and got to live in a hotel room for 8 months.
Away from family and girlfriend. Tuff times.
At first it was cool. I was living in a hotel. Every day people cleaning my room. Washing my clothes... and free food (good food).
It was awesome for 2 months... than great for 1 month... then ok for 1 more month...the last 4 months were really difficult.
But I had a xbox360 that I bought with my first salary... and he keep me entertained.
But dont worry man... everything is temporary. After some time, this will just be something to tell your friends as a memory. -
@vane
Thanks God me and the rest of the team have always delivered everything expected on the sprints.
All the user histories related to the system config. where attributed to him.
He is too proud. And not in a good way. -
The HomeOffice Vírus.
-
Man, just watched the trailler for Doom Eternal.
Felt in love! S2
Hehehe -
#gitblame

You know... I wasn't a HomeOffice fan at first. Always though that I would be way more productive in the corp. environment.
But, for my surprise I have been waaaay more efficient and has been waaaay more peaceful than if I was in my office chair.
I think that the best part is that, if I get stuck with something, I can take some time, play some game or something else... And then come back whatever time I want to solve it. -
The manager from the last project that I worked on had an swd background so he actually asked for us to set test even some tiny scripts that we would make.
I think that it depends on the work background of who's taking care of the project.
If the PM has background on managing civil contruction projects he'll probably skip the tests. Hehehe -
Yes! It certainly is.
Those "Drag'n Drop DIY Site Builders" are evolving but they still pretty limited in terms of functionalities and design.
Don't worry, people that are using those apps weren't going to contract a web developer in the first place.
Good to any job posting site and search HTML, CSS, Javascript. TONS of job offers. -
or it could be a new way to say Full Stack...
-
Friday deploy?!? @Wombat likes to play in Hard Mode. Hahahah.
-
There's a lot of other options.
If you already have some knowledge in coding maybe you could try some DevOps. -
HAhaHahaHa...
Can I fork that meme on my project group chat? -
I hate it...
The last company that I was working started delaying our paycheks also.
The CEO had the same speach. But is funny how our salary can be delayed but the project MUST not.
"How we're going to pay you guys (the money that we're already owning you) if don't deliver on time..."
What a trick! -
Funny. I was just think about that last week. = ).
You know... I started my comp. career in a Helpdesk dpt. got involved a lot with scripting and creating tools and became a developer.
Last 3 weeks, I was in the office from 9 to 9. That made me think about the time that I was in helpdesk. I remember that it still was stressful but at 5 pm, I was closing my notebook and went home to study, stay with my wife, play games...etc...
I think that really depends of what you want for your life right now. -
Interesting project... make me wanna try it also. = )
-
If you already understand English, then you're half way there... just need to practice talking to someone.
If you like games, try playing online on some USA server. At first there gonna be some "trolls" but sooner or later you'll find someone to have some good dialog.
And one more advice if you allow me... Every time that you hear (or read) some new word, try to put that in practice during your conversations, that away that world will be stuck in your "mental dictionary". -
I think that they just going to evolve to something else...
Like system adms. With the automation of most of the their tasks... a lot of then are going into DevOps. -
Good luck and don't forget the swimming shorts.
-
Wow... that should be in every programming book first page... or every video course intro.
Well said! -
What about people that sets Ladder Logic in PLCs? = )
