she’s worked with us for 8 years.
Has rung us before panicking because ‘outlook is just gone and I can’t send emails!!!’
She’d just deleted her desktop shortcut.
I opened the start menu and it was pinned there right in front of her - one click away!!!
Would you not look for it yourself before calling someone??

@py2js she’s a receptionist - who actually orders in USB sticks for staff in her building so I haven’t got a clue why she got so confused!
She’s worked here for 8 years already so it’s not like she hasn’t had PC issues before!

this keyboard actually doesn’t have an FN button, you are very correct!
But that is why i asked them to press the keys on their laptop... i actually said ‘open your laptop and press the blue Fn key’ but obviously they didn’t quite understand the difference lol

And unfortunately i do have to touch disgusting keyboards like this.
Its ok, I have hand-sanitizer on my desk at all times lol!

@ewpratten Would love to but the company we paid to send fake phishing emails locked the users PC for 5 mins and made them watch a video.
People just called us complaining for the 5 minutes instead of watching it haha

@heyheni actually, yes you could!
One of our directors once replied to a scam mail 'from the bank' with the company bank details.
Whoever it was then copied his email address and contacts, and mailed our accounts dept asking for a transfer to be done to some random account.

Emails went back and forward for several days organising this. Only when an accounts guy was in the middle of a meeting with the director and received a mail from said director about it, did he think to ask if we thought something was wrong - he didn't think of asking the director himself first!!

No one fact checks here and it's soul destroying!!

To get around this in work, i download the tool from the following link:
https://support.office.com/en-ie/...
which uninstalls any and all traces of office.
Double check theres no 'office' folder in the program files/program data folders, Reboot your pc, Disable any anti virus you have running and redownload the installer from office.com/setup.
Nightmare but always works for me!
