@leanrob First of all: your so called "proof" does't proof anything, that's not how science works.
Im pretty sure we'll be able to develop and test iOS apps on any mashine in the future. Open sourcing Swift is a good step in that direction.
Im also aware, that ranting about it won't do much but thats what this community is for: Ranting first of all. It's called DevRant! after all. -
@sunfishcc can't we customize them in the sittings.json?
-
@sunfishcc haven't thought about that this way. Just found it funny. I too use VSCode even on Linux (Work Mac in the picture btw) It's what Atom tried to be. In general I like what Microsoft is doing lately: first class Linux support in HyperV for example.
-
@rui725 so I called and they didn't pick up so I sent a mail. Got an answer 1 h later inviting me to an video call technical interview. I had that today and it went very well. next thursday im talking to the cto :p
-
@H4K3R good for you
-
@wolt thanks ;)
-
the problem with that is that you are assuming that every cs stundent should work in the industry as fast as possible. Looking on from a capistalistic view that would be fine, from a scientific, not at all. It's called Computer SCIENCE after all.
Also a studing env schould not be compettitive but supportive, focusing on learning. -
@H4K3R why would you want a shitty old macbook air?
-
@totallyquiche this is exactly what I was trying to say, thank you
-
@DLMousey for now sure, but in the future, once linux runs stable on it, it will be a very cheap and powerfull mobile emulator, with good controls.
+ because of that bug that allows to run linux on it you can pirate games for it 😂😂 -
@Torbuntu with some exp. python is really easy. I had none and had to struggle with clases i the first lesson 🙃
-
@Torbuntu what did you start with?
-
@sunfishcc yep, have you tried typescript yet?
-
@sunfishcc 😈
-
@sunfishcc I smell some sarcasm here 🤔🤔🤔
-
I think this would be a great idea for a website or a good moderated subreddit, wiki. It doesn't need to be a program. But a go to place for that information would be a blessing. Have had trouble with several mashines latly even get linux running.
-
@sunfishcc typing just 'hello world' would have the same effect to be honest 🤣🤣
-
@moagggi @balte already suggested that. Not really what I have in mind. It's to much of a hassle and from what I've heard, it still won't work well for development.
-
@lotd whats that, cant find anything on it :/
-
@rudak AppCode is just the ide. With xcode comes the SDK. Thats what counts
-
@mab07 "You'll need xcode......which means you need a Mac" - peterp (react native contributer ) 😖😖😖
-
@balte that's really the last thing I wanna do 😂 but thank you ☺️
-
@Wack Impossible if I wanna work with a real device for testing.And thats not the point. it just sucks to not be able to just download the sdk on a linux mashine and use what ever os you want.
-
@Olverine lmao, this is a perfect analogy 😂😂😂
-
@Froot its not just logitech but pretty common among wireless mice and they use bluetooth too, its just not re-pairable(if thats even a word). "own protocol" was maybe a bit too much said 😂😂
-
@Froot most mice use their own protocol and cant be paired with standard bluetooth......sadly
-
@jschmold will do, I have applied for a couple but since then, they were the only to respond
-
@rui725 I will ;)
-
@rui725 thank you :)
-
@CWins that a good point. I think I'll call them first thing monday morning. Thanks for the advice.
