@TheItalianGuy thanks!
-
@norman70688 I have been :) I've at least found the reason behind it
-
@TheItalianGuy I'd appreciate that! I just don't want to post my FB here because security lol
-
@norman70688 that's dangerous. I can accept that I'm rather polarizing and tend to piss a lot of people off (or we become friends immediately, but I'm less concerned about that)
-
Oh, hi!
-
@smb26 I'll try again in a few days. If not, she's getting more surprise gifts until she tells me. 😂 the organization will definitely need more, but I don't know that I'm sticking around for the next board year after this, so that's a them problem...
-
@Root that's a good idea. I'll head to the woodshop this week to see if I can design a mini groot or Jack Skellington thing.
Thank you!!!! -
@Root the problem is, nothing seems like it's enough. I would need 3 months to make a single flyer. She said to give her a week...
-
@norman70688 Possibly. I was her TA for a while, and she was my trainer when I got this job. I know she has two amazing little girls who I love to spoil, so I might just send her gift cards for them.
She and I have often bought things for each other or done things for each other (it's how we each treat our friends), but she got her degree in design and has been working in change management since she left my team (toxic boss), so I wanted to at least get her portfolio started for when/if she pursues it.
If I have to "pay more" later to help her out, I would in a heartbeat, even if she never did this for me. -
@Alice hiiiiiiiiiiiii
-
@asgs nope. Monitoring alerts, incident notes and details, shift handoff notes, upcoming maintenance, etc.
-
@skqr I have. For a while. I know how to manage my time and pull my employees tasks so I don't have to disturb them.
Sales: you can sort by employee
Current job: sort the spreadsheet we use, on top of the calendar and AARs, by employee and date.
I would have less issue with doing status reports if upper management didn't also want us to put the same information in 3 spreadsheets, 2 Locations on SharePoint, emails, text threads, daily reports, and other weekly reports.
But since all these are available, the status reports are dumb. -
but are there even 642 lines of code in the program yet? because most of my code i wrote always had a problem on a line that didn't exist yet...
-
@alexbrooklyn My bosses could easily look at our shared calendar where we post all our AARs and notes from Incidents my team resolves to tell what I did, when I did it, and how long it took. I hate repeating myself, so the status reports are extra annoying for that.
-
@justasithlord thanks for that tip! I feel like I can do this fairly easily, I'm just trying to familiarize myself with the format of the exam and the questions. I tend to read too quickly and miss important details, which cost me the point on the question; if I can slow down enough to NOT do that, I should be fine with the information I learned/taught in my intro level class (I took it, then turned around and was a TA for the class).
-
@NeatNerdPrime their "expert" didn't understand why I was questioning the difference. but it's easier than trying to read everything without having someone talk about it (make it feel more like a class than me just reading)
-
@Michelle Kind of, but less than before. I try to check in periodically, but I spent too much time on here and not enough time in the real world, which is a shame because I'm not sure I'll get to live in Europe again and want to enjoy all the history and culture.
Glad you're back <3 -
@BobbyTables thankfully, with my job, if i'm on the phone and there's no one to test, we schrodinger's cat scenario it and say if no one can test, how do we know it's broken?
If they can't test, we don't fix it. My newest boss is an angel and got that in our SOP. -
The best is when my team gets called and they say it's an emergency and needs to be fixed NOW!!!! but has been broken for weeks but they didn't need it then so they didn't let us know. Some teams do this so often we now get to de-escalate to a simple ticket rather than making my team sit on the phone for potential hours.
If you have repeat offenders, talk to management and bring stats on how much productivity they cost you, etc. -
I know you asked this for work stuff, but thanks for asking it, because my search for "what the fuck is an embedded operating system" returned your rant, and now I can have somewhere to start to answer this damn question on my final.
-
@MissDirection sometimes. Lol
-
@FrodoSwaggins hi!
-
@ScriptCoded finally found my answer somehow...
It's a biochemical computing method that is a single-bit operator (all I needed to read to include it in this research paper). If you want to look it up, the link is http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdo...
(edit: replaced doi with link) -
@rant1ng that's one of them. Another involves a parachute and the Alps. One involves a T Rex... and they all involve people being too slow to catch on...
-
@rant1ng I'll help you come up with some for @PonySlaystation...
I'm really good at coming up with stories... have 27 years (minus however long it took me to learn to talk) practice coming up with reasons I only have 1 hand... -
What size(s)??
-
@linuxxx you rock!!! Thanks friend!!!!!!!!!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
-
@erroronline1 that may be what's happened. Or the dude is just better with a tattoo gun than a website lol. Going for a consult in a few weeks; will bring it up with him then.
-
Better than the dude on the call two days ago who started snoring while he was supposed to be investigating a communication issue between sites...
-
@d4ng3r0u5 sadly not. Was the only female on BOTH calls this happened on. That I was on at the same time.
Today sucked
