American here: yes.
I've done the 401k match everywhere I've worked and currently am in a position where I kick 50% of my paycheck to a separate account.
It's not *all* saved; I do have some debts that I use that account to pay for, but I'd say 30% total does. -
@Root Well I hope you're able to find some way to keep your sanity until something comes along.
-
Sounds like you're getting burned out. Are you looking for other opportunities?

@molaram
"Yes police? This comment right here" -
@molaram the giddiness of being a kid again

@kotlin
I was never able to get it to install myself. The performance was too bad to even boot into the Live environment correctly, so I gave up.
If you do want to try it for yourself, the only thing I did for BlissOS was flash the ISO to a flashdrive and boot it from an OTG cable and it would boot. -
@C0D4
Go to Developer options and change the animation speed to .5x instead 1x. It seriously makes your phone seem so much faster -
@Parzi
Even that goes through updates in Windows 10! -
Same

@shoop
That's fine. Just as long as you know Linux is an option. But k wouldn't make such an absolute statement after trying two distros, both of which require technical knowledge of the Linux system to use. -
@Fast-Nop
Lol, that's r/Linux4Noobs in a drinking game
But seriously though, there's a distro for everyone and sometimes you just need informed the distro exists -
@shoop
Debian by itself is aimed at people who want Freedom, and so by default doesn't have non-free software—you'd need to change the apt sources file (which I assume you don't want to learn how to do)
I'd need to know your specs to give a good recommendation, but you really can't go wrong with Ubuntu Budgie if you have more than 4GB RAM. Otherwise Kubuntu has been great for me.
Manjaro is unstable due to its Arch base, and I never recommend it to anyone. If you want to -
@shoop
Autocorrect: I meant distro
I still want to know because some distros are more stable than others -
Laptop?

@shoop
What I've found to get ADB working is download the tools from Google, put them in ~/.local/bin and add ~/.local/bin to your path.
Which district do you have on your PC currently? -
Yeah, most people have moved on to openJava JRE. It should be in the repos
-
And then marked as the solution despite the OP saying "this did nothing. I ended up buying a Mac"
-
@arcsector
Yeah, I thought about that as soon as I posted -
@arcsector
MAC Addresses can tell us manufacturers, too! -
"You're asking a geologist to do chemistry, just because they're both scientists doesn't mean they can do each other's jobs"

@hitko
I would say these are the edge cases and definitely not the norm. Especially since Razer doesn't even officially support Linux.
And most of the time we need to edit configs is because it doesn't fucking work properly out of the box in the first place, which is is supposed to do. -
@noetic
I mean, you could do it with any language, not just C -
@gronostaj
I once had a user who hard over 100 copies of the same item in their Downloads folder. I don't recall the exact number, but I was terrified for that PC -
Pretty sure you need to redo it but with versions of "UwU"
-
@torbuntu
Linux basically is a cult. We talk about how our lives have changed since we discovered Linux and how we can't live without it.
It's getting to the point that people are holding conversion camps disguised as conferences, having small groups called "LUGs" and contemplating how they're "going to spread the good news to at least 5 people" next week. -
Automation is freaking awesome
-
@Root
My parents used to say this a lot. I'm just glad it's not about me this time -
I wonder if the board is an electron app. Surely it can't be a fully installed OS running a full Chrome browser? Right? Right?!
-
@Root @volttide
I'd wager most of those popups are from browser extensions, so I don't know how much Windows malware is to blame or how much a more secure OS would fix that -
Don't.
