This could win some sort of award for the most number of wrong things in so few lines of code.
-
what if it is breaking on every browser but Safari is the only one that gives you a clue on the error?
-
I'd like to report a crime.
-
something like this perhaps?

While I agree that the backend devs should not be paid less, I do not think the front end devs do any less hard work, if not more.
Taking web development as example, the devs have to keep themselves up to date with the number of frameworks and tools that are coming out almost daily or they risk being obsolete very quickly. The same cannot be said for someone working on a backend system, partly because it's a much higher risk migrating technology of a backend system so they tend to continue with the same tech for years. Front end seems to be changing every few months.
It's simply a different challenge but the hard work is not any lesser. -
I think Comcast must be the most hated company in the world.
-
Well in agile that’s how those ppts get made where bosses get to brag about the number of user stories and points that have been delivered. Don’t be selfish and make it all about you.
-
Adding the seemingly mandatory 2018 trend to this thread. Bundle your nodejs app into a container and spin up a kubernetes cluster thats limits 1 cpu for each container and then wonder that you just wanted to write a hello world program so what the hell went wrong?
-
@HollowKitty perhaps an example of "if it's not broke, don't fix it." - for decades apparently.
-
because vscode is amazing af.
-
I have this gem in my current application
parseInt($(this).parent().parent().find('.bold').parent().prev().find('a').html(), 10); -
don't commit.
-
@2lazy2debug I think so. Trying this on a browser console does popup the website's name.
navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia({video: true}); -
nostalgic. I had almost forgotten lotus notes. there hasn't been a heavier email client.
-
I really wish there was some sort of spec model to control the js ecosystem. Also, some of these big companies want to be the big bosses of the technology. Look at yarn. I like it and understand the need for it but FB could’ve worked with npm to fix what was broken instead of trying to takeover their market share.
-
Redis does that too.
-
@BigBoo it’s no accident. It’s there in the web spec. You can harness hyperconnectivity to multiple domains before your website actually uses those domains for downloading resources.

when approaching deadlines, it's mostly debug and code on repeat. design gets fucked sideways.
-
I wonder if amazon people also call it cloud. For them, technically it’s on their premises.
-
hang in there. i'm sure it cannot get any worse so it will definitely get better.
-
@heyheni i don't disagree with you but since you've made the comment, i have to ask. have you never seen sexist comments from anyone but Indians?
-
@sharktits it is a system where you get monetary rewards when you act like your boss's bitch all year long. you may not get rewarded as much as you like if you just suck your boss's dick and there is another bitch that's licking his balls and sucking his dick.

File > New Project.
Create new file.
37 minutes later. Still staring at that blank file.
Start copying files from old project.

This is a fucking mess!! -
unequal opportunity employer.
-
Everyone should move to VSS just to say fuck you very much to Microsoft.
-
Upload the zip files to S3. That would technically cover migration to AWS. No?
-
@telephantasm almost always B
-
agreed. just saw some code which had 3 nested for loops.
-
@FilipeRamalho Transport security is one thing and is a must but you don't want to store the user credentials as clear text. So what do you do? Hash them.
