Is the position still open? 🙌
-
I would not give in. In some sense, you also need to filter the recruiters based on their targeting habits. Or depends on your aim. But statistically, if you advertise yourself through values you care about, then you have a better chance to work with people you will like.
I would simply focus on describing your soft and hard skills and your experiences. -
There is usually two scenario for me.
I nail easily the interview in case I don't really care too much.
And fail on a whole new level when I'm super interested in the position.
Like I somehow able to reach some kind of monk level meditation based mind emptiness state, just in the wrong place and time. -
Gruetzi from Switzerland :)

Usually it's not a requirement to present past project other than talking about it.
Just request a code challenge ahead, and pwn it. -
:D :D :D

@ElizadeathRaven
To be more precise, multiple ways in which it worked, but while the past me believed it will be good , my present self feels different. But I try to stick with the "don't fix it if it's working" mentality, and improve next time. But there will be always a "better" next solution so it just probably the currently least worst choice by my current knowledge. -
* Practice TDD
* ACID properties of a db
* solid principles
* Practice the habit of communicate clearly what you don't know
* Practice the habit to collect as much information about a problem as possible, before a solution attempt
I believe that those topics can help you in multiple ways. -
Ruby lang believe that as well
-
@cabbybaby wish you a fast emotional recovery

I know a developer who is basically a Spartan. And apart from this , I highly respect him since he always calm open, and basically it was legendary good feeling to work with him. A person without bias. He changed my view without even knowing.
-
I wish you a fast recovery.
In the meantime, if you have time to spare on reading, please I beg you to read this.

@Santaclauze my wife goal to become a software engineer who can code in golang, so I guess it can be considered as a dev wish as well, since she be a dev in the future :)

Why do you want to drink more ?
I mean coffee is a tool that can help extend static focus at slight price of creativity.
In general I don't drink it before planning or such creativity based activities, and after I prepared all my task cards, and my focus is trembling it is reasonable to drink a coffee.
Joke on this topic with legal drugs, but a slight amount of alcohol can increase creative thinking, but I don't recommend this other than hackathons. -
@athlon BTW Window 7 is Vista with new branding.
It was more successful because manufacturers made drivers during Vista time, and hardware was stronger by the time 7 was released. -
Linux is a Kernel, not an OS.
(I love GNU/Linux just saying)
By the way I love most OSs, because each usually good for a specific userbase.
I may not prefer all for personal usage.
Grabs popcorn... -
I like that title
-
All the best, don't forget to practice Java/Python + algorithms. And for the sake of the interview, practice premature code optimization as well.
-
:) I wish you a great LTS

@nanoandrew4
Soft skills are important for respect. :) -
Manjaro || Arch
Manjaro -> normal gameplay
Arch -> legendary Edition with survival mod enabled -
Humanly readable contextualy structured specs + git commits with reason about the changes + handbook is my favorite way of doing documentation.
I like to create things in a way that if I'm not able to transfer knowledge during or after development to a new member, at least that person don't feel uncomfortable because the lack of help. -
Jumped to golang for this, worth it! :)))
