I guess you should change your target to Amazon, eBay, Alibaba (bulk trades), Aliexpress and other big companies that deal with trading goods and use traditional databases. Their data is in serious danger it seems.
-
How is this better than standard market like Amazon or eBay but "for farmers"? I'm not sure what problem is blockchain supposed to solve here. Is this just to get more attention because it is blockchain?
-
What is the going rate for those hoes? Asking for a friend.
-
@Parzi You could sell that R9 380 along with the rest of PC and increase that budget. It sucks, but once you move out and start to work then you should be able to afford a new one in some time (depends how cheap you are willing to live).
Besides, if you somehow get $100k in a month then you can as well use that money to start a new life instead of burning it on your less than ideal father. -
I doubt it is incompetence. They likely just want more control and "think of the children" is perfect excuse.
-
Out of curiosity - why aren't you working?
-
@digib0y Startups are good if you have decent enough savings to work for half free or even free. You could get "paid" in shares that end up worthless or they could say that they can only pay 50% now and they will pay you back after new investor comes (new investor would never agree to that) . You also should have enough experience do properly estimate risk of working for company that could go bankrupt.
So no, startups are not good for freshers. You could get fresher (naive) colleges that you will learn bad practices from or maybe someone good that will teach you interesting stuff, but I would guess that they won't have time because of tight budget. Go work for corpo. -
@Pogromist Maybe your answers and questions do not meet SO standard and guidelines? Care to reference them here so that your claims no longer appear unsubstantiated?
-
Why not just avoid SO then?
-
@netikras Careful with those "discounts", because in Europe it is fairly common to raise the price before Black Friday and then "discount" it back to original or even to higher than it used to be. I once saw this ridiculous sale on a phone prepaid card giving "operator cash" worth of 50 of my local currency that was discounted from 150 to 50.

@shoop I'm not sure if reduced touch sense in a body part is related to blood flow. I think that you might think that because if you put pressure in certain places then after some time you will feel numbness in parts that are "below" this pressure point, but that is actually because you put pressure on nerves and they can't transfer information properly.
I'm pretty sure you would feel pain from your dying fingers before numbness would come. -
If you are using your screen in bright ambient light then using dark mode is putting more strain on your vision. There was some research done on that, tho most of it is fairly old if I remember correct.
-
I don't do much about that. I sometimes slack off as well so whatever; I think that 8h per day is too much for desk job so I don't feel bad when doing it and only get mildly irritated when someone does too much of it. In the end they aren't my subordinates and I don't have stake in the company. I can always just change jobs if it goes under or I get denied pay raise.

@AleCx04 I don't know about other tags, but I browse regularly PostgreSQL and I usually don't see anything toxic, but people trying to help. Maybe you meant to use different word for description of ratio between toxic and helpful members or equate toxic behavior to harsh attitude. Even if you did equate those two I wouldn't still go so far as saying that SO members are overall harsh (or toxic). Maybe you have some evidence to back this up tho?
Examples you listed I would say that qualify for reporting, since you did not ask for evaluation of your career path and in this context those comments are clearly rude. I'm sure they will be dealt with, considering that recently hints "to be nicer" were introduced in proximity of text inputs.
EDIT: You can't downvote comments. -
@Jilano How is that calculated? Average flesh volume compared to reference body?
-
That is some unconventional use of CTE.
-
Not sure if trolling, but...
I looked up definitions of "software engineering" and it does not say directly or indirectly that interpreted programming languages are not suitable. Any (or most) programming language can be used for scripting. -
Voting to close this question because: too broad
Voting to close this question because: primarily opinion-based -
Easier to change function return unchanged input value than to remove its use from all code.

@arcsector I don't really understand why are you even engaging in causal conversations with people who talk only about anime (unless you just met them). If I'm not interested in something I usually just tell them that and if they keep going then I just move away or put on headphones.
I'm personally interested in very few things (anime is among them) and I see no point in wasting my time on something that would be interesting for someone else just to be able to converse with them. I wouldn't do that even for attractive female, I would rather go with average one that shares my interests. -
@theKarlisK I think those algorithms are fine for most people. Examples given by Mozzila are most likely borderline cases when it blows up like that, unless they have some data that Google does not have or understands and could do better algorithms. *doubt*

Usual culprits:
- "I don't want to be held responsible for any failures so I will write those requirements as vague as possible" OR "Can't you read my mind?! It all fits perfectly in there, geez."
- "I think I can do this myself", "Oh shit, guess not" OR "I've got those other more important stuff, I will check this later without considering how much time it would take me to send request vs time it takes to fullfill it"
- good job with this programming stuff, you are now promoted to team manager (starts to Google "managing teams for dummies") - this is called "Peter's Principle"
- I needed it yesterday and you are actually writing terrible legacy code right now, deal with it
- dunno, no experience with that -
@ScaryException He is, but his approach to this problem is not. Comments in StackExchange network are usually only meant to clarify question. The other somewhat tolerated use is to post answer if you are too lazy to make one that would follow usual standards.
Sorry for this nekro, I don't check notifications often. -
@alexbrooklyn Insurance often will have certain rules in place to protect itself from fraud like for example owner "stealing" from himself, or in this example employee stealing from his employer and claiming someone else did the thing (I'm not accusing anyone, just saying why).
In case of burglary it usually requires visible proof of forced entry (so leaving window half-open or forgetting to lock doors usually means 0 insurance). In case of laptop it could be Kensington lock being used, broken window in a car, home burglary, police report and so on. -
@aviophile It isn't about privacy but for example someone commiting malicious code using maintainer or creator account and then people not noticing and using that code. At least that is one of the reasons in addition to already mentioned ones.

Kill the body after transfer is complete. I'm assuming it should be possible to do so in a way that consciousness in body wouldn't notice that it is being killed.
It is similar principle to teleportation in some hard science fiction that is basically building copy of you and destroying source of the copy (or decomposing it for materials to reuse).
EDIT: Assuming your body does not get killed like that and you die of old age (or accident) then it wouldn't matter to me that there is copy somewhere. It would be still me dying. -
Software does not develop by itself if left alone so I don't see how it could become a mess if no one changes code for 6 months.

@vsthakur Language demand can vary depending on location, industry, if this is in-house or outsourced, consulting and so on.
I would normally just browse my local popular job market websites, filter by a few languages and see how many results will show up. -
@inaba Windows 10 will display Dekstop folder name in system language, but if you check its path, it will be C:\Users\your_username\Desktop
Same thing applies to Music, Documents and so on. -
@noyb Man, you are extremely unreliable. Before you look for another girl, do try to get your life in order so that you have stable work hours and actual life after work. Do not promise what you aren't 100% sure that you can deliver; at least do not do this at first date when she isn't hooked yet (no, chatting isn't big enough hook to blow it so many times). Your date does not have to be in special place or doing something "not boring"; most aren't.
