It's not very good in my opinion, sorry pal
-
At least there are distinguishable Services
-
@Devnergy I'd call it a genuine opinion
-
@Angry-dev Yea Phpstorm works in mysterious ways...
-
I had that once, for some reason, Phpstorm recognized "foo.js" as an independent file type that has nothing to do with the ".js" file type. Look at the "custom file types" section in the settings
-
@IHateForALiving They migrated to web-components2
-
If you need help with this, I'm sorry but programming just isn't for you.
-
@JustThat Easy/medium tasks was an imprecise choice of words. I clarified what I meant in my comment to @d-fanelli
-
@d-fanelli Completely agree with that. I should've been more precise: A specialist is more capable of dealing with problems arising from the technology he is an expert in. There are always problems that can be more easily solved within a framework or library and thus don't require in-depth knowledge of the specific technology.
But sometimes you may have to do things the framework isn't actually made for and/or behaves unexpectedly. In this case you need someone who really knows the internal logic of the framework - a specialist. -
It's the cache. 50 bucks it is the cache
-
Interesting topic, but got literally nothing to do with software development
-
I completely understand that. But I like it for the obvious visible progress you make.
-
It works okay for many games and not at all for some. But I just recently reinstalled Windows for gaming after completing switching to Linux 5 years ago. Windows is simply better suited for gaming and honestly I am happy to have gotten rid of all the proprietary software on my Linux system.
-
@johnmelodyme Thanks God no. Although I really like the idea of pure functions and use them on most occasions, this paradigm can be easily applied within an object-oriented context.
-
@johnmelodyme from C++ to Java and mainly PHP. Though it would be much harder if all 3 weren't object-oriented. Migrating to Haskell would've been much more difficult.
-
Yes, and it's especially true if you migrate from a lower level language to a higher level language, because chances are good that the low level stuff just works perfectly fine. Except for pointers.
-
I think you need both specialists and generalists in a dev team. You need generalists that see the bigger picture and can be flexibly assigned to a lot of easier/medium tasks.
But no matter on which technology you committed, at a certain point there will be a frustratingly hard problem. For these kind of tasks you need the specialists that know every little specific oddity of the technology chosen. -
Let me guess: Of course this isn't typescript, but plain js, right?
-
@Root Honestly I am more and more getting the impression that he purposely obscurified the code to make him unfireable.
-
Probably dodged a cannonball
-
@Wombat Not the deployment itself, but the functionality of the system. You can't always fully trust the API documentation and things that work on the APIs dev system may not wokr on the API prod system.
-
That only works for applications which are not reliant on third-party APIs
-
@netikras That's what I meant. The JetBrains IDEs have editorconfig running in the background.
-
@s0LA Yea Thats why you can configure editorconfig to automatically convert tabs into spaces
-
Take a close look at the URL input field of your browser. Does it say stackoverflow.com? No? Thought so.
-
Describe the general situation. Are you streessed, are you relaxed, did you have trouble with your coworkers, were your applauded by your boss, did you get a warning from your boss...
-
Sounds great! Could you post a repo link so we can take a look at it?
-
Maybe she is borderline colorblind?
-
Unpopular opinion, but I see this as an absolute win. He is a genius programmer for sure. But he is also an exceptionally terrible human and the leader of such a foundation should first and foremost be a representative.
-
Vim actually is very fast
