It should not be an issue if he doesn't try to proselytize. I would actually argue it's discrimatory to hire someone based on beliefs, whack or not. If however, as is often the case with conspiracy nuts, he tries to convert people to the Truth, he is not suited for any job with people around him...
-
It's the lowest common denominator. Even if you don't know python, you will understand what 90 percent of it does, and will be able to translate it to your language of choice. Try that with C or Perl.

There are more stupid things to stud, than tourism. There is certainly a lot of money in that industry.

I mean a and b didn't follow the convention, so they could do it again, but properly. And Pie doesn't really fit in my opinion

The last version of COBOL is from 2014.
The first is from 1959, though... -
If there is no way to check whether the server is up, you should at least measure the average time it takes and add an error margin, instead of just doing a rough estimation, which could cost you quite some time

I never had chest pains, but I was once so caffeinated that I couldn't think straight anymore and my eye sight was a little shaky. You need to eat something and drink some water if it happens, you will feel better soon.

If a bug is rooted deep in the architecture, any workaround that doesn't fix the bigger problem will cause another bug.
If you don't understand why a bug happens, but stumble across a simple hack that removes it, you can expect problems.
But if the issue is small and well understood, there should not be additional bugs after fix the issue. -
What is the thing with those abbrev? Is there a technical reason why you couldn't write device, not dev? Or was that just lazy
-
@Alice with a good enough data set I'm confident you could detect whether a person is trans/going to transition in the next ten years.

I had always heard that textbooks are expensive, but I though they would then at least also be expansive

@electrineer well, as I said school systems are different, so there is no translation, but arguable the best fit would be high school. We have 4 years 6-10 elementary school, and then three different "high schools" one 5 years, one 6 and one 8 or 9 years.
On the other hand, translating the word high school verbatim gives us Hochschule, which in German means college... -
@electrineer because school systems differ from country to country. I'm currently in my eighth and last year of high school.
-
Multiple countries have other as an option. Even if you don't agree with the notion, you will probably have to accept it, if you're dealing with official stuff
-
I tried really hard this year, but tomorrow I'll have school again, and will have to get up at 6:45, and today I went to bed at 4:30...

Off by one errors. Happens to the best!

I think coding on paper can actually make sense, so that there is no autocomplete, automatic syntax checking and so on so that you'll have to rely on your knowledge, but for very verbose languages it can really be annoying. Also, you'll have to plan out what code to write, because adding another line on paper isn't that easy, which is actually a virtue as it leads to less buggy code, but who has time for that shit...
