Oh you guys are awful, lol
 -

Now I have to hunt for that rant to see if anyone mentioned PEMDAS...
 -

I've been putting off the 3.0 migration for as long as I can...been sticking to 2.3. I'm scared of how many things will break and/or have incorrect upgrade suggestions (by far the worst offender during upgrades).
 -

Ok, where'd ya get the mug?
 -

@KittyCrumpet if you must know, I hadn't had my cup of java yet, so I was a little slow on the uptake. But I am throughly amused and joyed by your emphasis on "ALL the puns."

Any company that acts as a patent troll

I need to get this for myself

						Simon says shutdown!
 -

						Ahh, yea. Been there before.
 -

Isn't getSecond() redundant? (I'm assuming "second" is also a private integer.
 -

@SirPally same here. Now I feel an urge to look it up!
 -

@bhargav-mogra got it. I understand your frustration.
 -

Storyboards are XML underneath and are absolutely version-controllable, but I guess it all comes down to how comfortable you are with performing manual merges at times (when they get extremely out of sync). I've had multiple devs work on a single storyboard before and all were able to check in changes to different views without a single merge conflict.
 -

It took me a while to get comfortable with them too, especially using scroll views and thinking "why the shit does it think my constraints are broken?!"
But I eventually learned...and they're great. Especially compression/hugging. -

F# seems to be a very niche market right now. I would go with C# for the time being, and then branch out into something like T-SQL (there's a high likelihood you'll be dealing with SQL DBs for storing data, and having a good understanding of making efficient queries is extremely useful).
 -

@tytho you can still host your own (they provide the code for free now), but if OP had a question on how to run a specific query, that Q would apply to both the hosted or self-hosted solution.

My team suffers from MITM attacks from our own network all the time. Most of the time it's because the people working on network/firewall teams are incompetent and don't know how to properly maintain a network. They also love to spend millions on security appliances that they don't know how to install or use... Ugh, fml.

I typically have a cup of a Columbian (or other South American) roast in the AM...and then copious amounts of flavored (or aloe) water throughout the day.
 -

Oh, haha, right... Didn't see the "wk8" tag. D'oh!
 -

You aren't using some form of version control (with a remote store)...? (E.g. Git (GitHub, Bitbucket) or Subversion)
 -

How are you the only dev? Do you work for a paper/print-only company? Tool and die? Or does your company mostly contract out development work? I'm confused...
 -

I used VMware Fusion for a Win8 image and VS2013 (never got around to updating to 2015) and it worked just fine. Allocated 3GB for host and 5GB for guest. Or it could've been 2/6.

Aaand this now makes total sense. Just keep reading, folks. ;)
 -

What is the screen on the right showing? I'm assuming status for various services. Is it a custom "dashboard" or a service I'm not aware of?
 -

I feel for you, I really do. And I consider myself super fortunate that I haven't had to work with people as inept as that! Ugh...I don't even want to think of that, lol.
 -

The rant is strong with this one.

"Betas" on Amazon Video. Only 1 season though. =(

Swift. I've been a C# developer for many years and Swift was a much easier transition than Obj-C.
