lol. hotmail is just hotmail. has it ever not sucked? if you use gboard u should know that ur using it. its sending all your information to google aswell. you can get to the settings via the quick panel always, but it should also be somewhere in ur apps. for the apps, you may want to look into debloating ur phone. Yes phones are bloated by default. For gmail, maybe look under the app info's section and disable battery optimization and enable notifications.

i'd keep it offline. Alot easier to maintain aswell as more secure. Sounds cool though. We did sth similar as kids. A webcam was noticing movements at front door and alerted via email with an attached image.

@jestdotty i think the way american cities are at the moment is much more isolating. Imagine kids needing to drive every where by car. What a hell. I went everywhere i wanted by bike. Also travelling by train far is great. It isnt about removing cars either. Just cars for short commutes. At the current state a families may have two cars just to commute to work.
