By frontend you mean frontend web development right? 😁
-
Who knows, MAUI might be useful at some point. Being decoupled from visual studio releases is a start.
-
@b2plane errr. Scala is still the main popular language to do Spark stuff in afaik.
I've written a few ETL jobs in Scala, quite proud of those because they took me an age to figure out 🙈 -
Congrats man! I hope you'll still have time to rant here 😁
-
Sorry to hear so many things changed for the worst here. I had forgotten about devrant for a while, it's really odd to find it in such a state all of a sudden.
-
Well at least it seems to make more sense than AWS?
I quite like some Azure stuff: function apps, Synapse was also a pleasant surprise.
Cost though.. that's something different.
And yes there's a lot of poo on there too, which are the ones troubling you? -
@chonky-quiche Sure it's intriguing, but I don't want anything to do with their Delphi stack
-
Its funny, I noticed it's usually the tourists that simply don't know it's happening. They just see empty seats.
Come on it's not like they put a huge silence red indicator on the door, or the head rest. They put a subtle one on the windows. (With the new design it's an icon that looks more like decoration than anything else)
Well guess what, noisy tourists generally don't look out of the windows because they're too busy talking to people 😂
I just gave up after 10 years and don't go into the silence areas anymore, I'm way less irritable that way because I expect some noise.
It's really the NSes fault at this point. -
@Demolishun because it's so easy to program for!
Imo osx is cheating because it only supports very specific hardware configurations, and even those not for very long 😂
Windows often gets blamed for stability issues when it's in fact a driver issue! And when you're supporting a zillion configurations with hundreds of manufacturers that's bound to happen.
Since Windows Vista/7 i also have not seen windows destroy itself. And since 7 it was no longer necessary to reboot every once in a while. -
Meh Microsoft has some good products
Visual Studio non-code (i can't stand Code personally so not mentioning it )
.net 6, and C#
A lot of stuff on Azure, and the portal in general
Azure DevOps
Windows Phone 7.5 and 8.x
Fluent Design, and Metro before it
But yeah Teams looks like they didn't even bother about building it from scratch and bought a Slack clone for 1000 dollars and used that as a base. I mean even the ui design does not match their own..??
And uwp is dead, winui is not taking off (where's the flipping designer already?)
Windows also has its quirks, but I'll give them some credit because all the legacy software somehow keeps working. -
@Stuxnet do you think this using of your private acc could theoretically be labeled "unsafe"? I mean imagine a less tech savvy person does this?
-
Nice. Primes have always fascinated me. Why are you dividing by one though in that formula? 😁
-
That screenshot is 2 years old.
Nice try though. -
If you talk to support and mention you want to stop your subscription you might get a good offer to stay.
At least that's what they did for me. I love nord except for it's pricing -
So, stop building viruses ? 🤷♂️
-
Our team lead loves stand-ups. He easily quadruples it's total duration when he attends.
He's famous for it 🙈 -
That for work? Time for a nap!
-
@dontbeevil i found the biggest one that applications installers (like final cut pro, at least used to) do not automatically come with a way to uninstall it.
In some cases the uninstaller is even a paid custom app 😅 -
Windows XP+ updates never broke something for me. On a rare occasion it would fail to install but roll back I guess.
Windows 98 updates were scary though. Even "just" upgrading IE could fuck up your install and you were advised to format your c drive if you wanted a reinstall to succeed 😂
Good times. -
Ouch, tough luck my man. But stay strong and confident 😀 just sounds like two devs trying to show off their own skills. Say they are good solutions, but you chose a path that would be more optimal for you (=less dev hours and thus cheaper)
-
Good story! Hope our company (which has a huge code base in Delphi) won't follow the same road.
P.s. I love c#, but I know that won't help here 😅 -
Durrr.
-
@adhdeveloper glad Adderall helps for you, but I'd like to stress this is serious medication (amphetamines right?)
This does not work for everyone. There are plenty of alternatives though. still this won't solve all of your problems -
Sounds way too familiar. It's as if i have to choose between work and private life..
So far I've chosen the first because I need to live. But I'm really messing up relationships with friends and family.
If i knew a solution I would have told you. Other than working less for me at least there's no option I can see
Good luck! -
I changed it to "password". Should be set for life. Thanks jonas
-
Wow, this guy must be brilliant! 🤔
-
@Floydimus you ... Are ... Becoming one of them? 😗
-
Surface book was their best product imo, but that got discontinued. Owned 1 and 2. Loved them to bits. Not very fast though.
Surface laptops are really decent too I hear. Hardware is just a little behind for some reason.
Surface tablets look sexy these days, but windows hasn't been nice on a tablet since 8.1 imo. -
That's funny because it's true
-
Well then cloning your displays should make you even happier 😀
