@drpen@DrPenguin I looked your profile and understand where you are coming from. I did read through how ppl do let code type question. 2 type, turtle (slow), fight to the end and get most out of it. Or rabbit (fast), if don't get it, read the answer, build up the volume. I did try the turtle. Some times it takes few days to do one, then the habit routine breaks. I won't do it any More. Now I am trying rabbit. Book atomic habit highlights the importantance of small win. I did try to solve it in 10 mins, if able to get through it will dig in. If not, need to build up the knowledge, then easier to do them.

@freeme just history, but some are not known to the public
-
Well. It is not my code. Other ppl code. The point is to increase understanding level to 110 percent. Make the code your code. I cannot control how ppl build code, but u can control how I do it. Why is important to reach 110 percent understanding. You are able to memorize the code, change fast, creative.

So did you ask him to reflect his entire action and thinking process. Ask his what was good and what was bad.what did he learn along the way. If the same thing happens, is he going to do the similar thing?
I run this 3 times everyday against myself and twices in a team each day, if I have a team.
The basic idea is to run stand-up and scrum on personal level.
If the new guy starts to think about what is the purpose of life or what he does exist, it is taking effect. -
@d3vnu11 is that a copy and paste?
-
@kickass, good I can do better thing.
-
No new work to do, so they have to let me go.
-
Come back a few days and check my rant. Got lots of upvotes. #unexpected

@ScribeOfGoD sit still is not meditation. Can you think nothing. Can you think nothing for long time? I mean really long time.
-
@ScribeOfGoD did you try meditation. Did it Work?
-
You need focus. When you walk, read, study, play game etc. You need focus. Focus is everywhere in your life. Practise meditation helps you gain focus....
-
@JoshBent yes
-
I don't see meditation, particularly, instant meditation, mentioned here. I tried and it is very helpful.

@theScientist I used to practise basketball at home and I think I am good. Reality hits when play on strong player. Ba used to spend months to document stuff. Reality hits when we stat to code. Individual does their code. We thought the integration wont be an issues. Reality hits again. Code to understand means hit the reality in the first play. I told my fellows. We do integration in day 1.

@DelError I understand what you are saying. I may be wrong, but this is how I interpreted for that quote. The quote is more about fixed mind set vs growth mind set. It is about a believe. A believe for myself that I can be better.
It is not about becoming someone, comparing someone or suppress someone.
The quote exists in a context.
My rant may be the same as other other motivation crap from other people's eyes. That is fine. I accepted that. But if someone sees it as a useful resource, I am happy as well. -
@NoMad, no I don't. Now I did. https://youtu.be/_f7oRjnMBgQ
-
Also I have a list of useful videos. https://github.com/kenpeter/...
-
@NoMad I start to do it very short like 5 seconds. It is the amount of time without thinking. I extend the time bit by bit. Also it is OK to have thoughts when you meditate, just bring back your focus back to your breath.
-
@Michelle I think is the opposite. My mind is not silent enough, so I need to take meditation. I start 5 seconds meditation and extend the time bit by bit. Also we can do medication anywhere. Sitting, lie on the bed, etc. The importance is to form a habit rather forcing it. That is how our brain designed.

This is already the year of Linux cloud.

Here is a video I made. How to combine Feynman technique, pomodoro, mind map to read code: https://youtu.be/2phMXvifypU it helps you to understand the code better and faster and stay longer
-
When I was junior high, I was at the bottom of class. Again, when I was at high school, I was still at bottom of school. I was fascinating how others did so well. I was not able to read properly, not able to understand concept easily. Fast forward when I was working, I still have the same issue.
Until I Incorporated with self review, speed reading, Feynman technique, promodo, meditation, etc. I am improving steadily in coding, reading, ect.
I struggled for a long time. If someone is struggling, he should come out and talk to others. If you have some amazing techniques, I would like to hear as well. It is a meetup to talk about learning, improving, life lesson, helping others etc. -
@BambuSource I did. I set it 10 mins
-
@BlueNutterfly this video inspired me. I hope it does to you as well. https://youtu.be/RrZQlLEjvwU
-
@BlueNutterfly try meditation. I saw you always come to my rants. I tried a few days ago. I am more focus, clarm, at present, etc. Lots of people hesitate it, but it is the only way I know that I can transform my self in short amount of time. Practice it, then thinking about what you want to do, are you doing it right. Keep watching meditation topic on YouTube helps me to vertical grow

@DanijelH is your vue code base getting large. Are you using vuex?. Is redux better giving clearer logic than vuex when the code base gets Large.
-
@linuxxx that is OK. I think it is an attitude rather than a definition.
