Fixing semicolon errors was not part of the compiler's job description.
-
that's what happens when you say "works on my local" too much

Just came across this article. This is a good one.

Don't go to office on weekends
-
@CoffeeNcode Mine is usually around 40-50 days
-
My mac doesn't shutdown after an update try to 10.12.6 from 10.12.4. It just waits for don't know what with cursor as only thing on black.
-
@Root :3 (silently, I use arch...)
-
new macbook pro(last year's) does support windows dual boot(Boot camp)
-
@caramelCase I use WSL since I don't want switch (dual boot) when I am gaming and need to do some linux stuff. I am used to bash.
-
@Root looks like arch
-
@WIPocket Trust me this would have negative effect
-
@WIPocket Do you really believe that a dev should change to windows from a native unix eco?
I have to deal with windows crap in office on a daily basis when someone from my team can't do something in git-bash. I write bash scripts regularly and it's windows systems that are pain cause they can't use it -
Can't add multiple images. Will upload somewhere and share.

It was totally worth it. I was able to open 50 Facebook tabs in chromium with one extra load in each page(used End key to load more content). Earlier after 30 tabs System became unresponsive and I had to force-reset my laptop. This time after 50 tabs System was fully responsive as I was able to take screenshots without any problems.
-
@Root yeah whatever you believe LOL
-
@Root Sorry again if it hurt.
I was not implying anything, just tried add some humour(failed at sarcasm 😰) based on [Electra_complex](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...).
I added that link to your rant because this thread was not adding completely to what I knew. -
@Root I am sorry for this one 😅
@monzrmango maybe it(dating the girl) was another attempt to please the lord 😂 -
@W77ng I am not sure about Pros but Air looks fine to me.
I am currently using two chrome windos with around 20 tabs in each(without suspender), 3 VS Code windows (with many plugins enabled), 1 Android Studio, Postman and some apps (whatsapp, sequelpro, etc) and I still don't feel anything. New Air is costlier and better and I am not sure how much it's worth the money. -
@monzrmango @Root I thought I remembered something related to this, then I found this:

Google for being blabbermouth?

@Root it's sad. I never believed parents like this do exist. Looks I was living in a fairy land then.
My parents were easy. All it needed to was be good in whatever I was doing and that something must lead to a good career. From science to maths to computers, they were with me. It's same with my sisters. Except dating. They were strict at this, with me and sisters. -
@abelgeorge without captions I wouldn't even imagine otherwise.
-
@Bobj2008 learn from David and slow down a little.
-
@KasperNS ++'d for using best available tool for job.
-
@rEaL-jAy I don't care as long as company pays for it
-
@kayb01000010 thanks.
That should help :P -
I have a desktop and and a laptop for personal usage, with Arch installed on them.
I have windows on my desktop for playing games(it has 4GB GTX 1050ti).
I use Mac only for office use and some times browsing.
My point is I don't need to waste time setting up my system every day. And that frustration when I system starts freezing when too much is running on system. I use screen with 50+ windows open at a time, each one them named specifically for which they were opened, with commands in their respective session history.
As I mentioned earlier I was able to cross 60+ day uptime but it was too much of pain to keep it smooth.
I am planning to upgrade my laptop with a 500GiB SSD and might enable zram and see if it works any magic. I just don't like restarting my system so often.
PS: Sorry but I had to mention the distribution. -
@Jilano yes, specs like this is usually around 50-60 k India (SSD models) and so is MacBook Air. And you don't get performance like tbis. My uptime was 72 days(yes I skip updates due to local screen sessions) until I crashed system with too many open files(system was not able spawn new processes). Now it's 49 days. And it's been only 4 months and few days here.
I was able to cross 60 days on Ubuntu at last office but I had to restart chrome and eclipse every now and then to keep it smooth and also limit the number of tabs I was using in chrome. Good thing was I able to update system without restarting for non-kernel packages. -
@Chill I don't think I'll buy anything apple(except that costly thunderbolt to hdmi converter). I got it from office few months ago when joined. This one is macbook air 2017 and price tag is justified if you ask me.
