For c++: CLion by jetbrains.
If youre a student you can even get it for free. -
So im gonna be that guy then
git is a command line tool, and the cli is the best interface for it. -
Everybody knows these situations.
But to be honest, I always say "ask me before you rush into fix it by spending money".
Theres nothing worse than your mom buying a shitty notebook for waaay to mutch money.
So i deal with these small annoying things and see them as my kind of "contribution to society" 😎 -

Pretty cool tho -
I mostly use jebrains stuff. IntelliJ for plain java/kotlin, android studio for everything android related and CLion for c/c++.
Its great to have the same tools and shortcuts on every system (linux+windows) for all the languages I need regularly. -
@starless @thedev sorry guys I'm not allowed to release the game. We used some assets and tech which are for educational purposes only. It would obviously free, but some licences don't even allow that.
I should check licencing before including stuff in projects in the future so I can release them. -
Doesn't the second lead to the first?
-
@winterfruit to be honest the sound is not awesome. I couldn't do better tho
-
Oh my god. YES
Best mobile game if you ask me.
Sadly its a bit lacking content wise because there comes a time where you have everything with unlimited money. But up to that point it's awesome. -
@starless I never thought of releasing it to the public. I'll check if im allowed to and reply on this thread asap.
-
@ItsNotMyFault I would if I could, but the repository is provided by the university and I don't have the required permissions to do that
-
I know a lot of those people (especially in university). They want to learn how to code or learn a new language if they already know one but never actually sit down and do something about it.
I think it's mostly missing motivation to get started and lot's of pure laziness.
I think you can't to anything to help him, he has to learn himself and if he doesn't actually start you can't help him with specific problems he might encounter. -
You should get shutup10 which makes it easy to deactivate all that microsoft malware.
-
@MrFox as a game dev I have to disagree
-
@corscheid both Unreal engine and unity have pretty good linux versions of the editors nowadays. UE4 is final on linux (tho you have to compile from source) and unitys test builds are pretty stable as well.
As long as you don't go the directX route theres pretty much nothing stopping you. -
In my experience VS is kinda sloppy when it comes to errors and warnings.
We recently moved an unreal engine project over to linux based development and the terminal blew up with errors and hundreds of warnings which visual studio just suppressed. As a result our code is much cleaner now.
I nevertheless recommend using an IDE. Clion by jetbrains is awesome and you should get it for free for educational purposes. -
I can clearly see multiple motherboards
1/10 - would not trust again -
@jakobev I just clicked on a subreddit link in the official app.

Maybe you can use a StringBuilder and pass the charsequence in?

Make sure your monitor is aligned properly, in most cases you should rise it up a bit (top edge of the screen roughly at eyes height).
Obviously you need a good chair and a desk at a height which matches your size.
I had my monitor too low for a few weeks and I got some painful problems in my back and neck. -
This will be my "one new language a year" for 2017. As a former Java dev I really need to give it a try.
