So you're telling me...

This is speculation but my theory is it's an anti-Adblock technology. Because Adblock loads at page load I think what it's doing is make the user manually trigger an event AFTER page load, which then renders the ad, thereby bypassing the Adblock. I can't really think of any other reason for this

This would be true if === and == made any difference. In 90% of the cases they don't. You are free to judge them if they use it incorrectly and it results in an error (the 10% of the cases) but I don't see a reason why one would judge someone for using what is perfectly legit and perfectly works.

Not a go programmer but I'm intrigued. Could you elaborate? I understand the js part

As someone who used to be a passionate unit test hater (probably hated it more than all of you guys on this thread combined and thought it was for people who have nothing better to do), but now working on an open source project that involves a lot of complex logic, here's my take:
I started writing tests when the amount of pain I get from not writing tests exceeded the amount of anger and pain I got from having to write tests. I still personally think people who write tests for web UIs are doing it wrong, but when you have a super complex logic, and you don't write tests, you will soon realize you're better off just writing tests.
Also tests have been effective for open sourcing. Because a lot of people just send pull requests without testing shit themselves so I have to go through and do all their work myself, whereas if I had written tests their PR will fail immediately and I don't even have to waste my time.
Bottom line: Only write tests when you start feeling the pain. -
@Grumpy I think that's how Firefox works nowadays. I normally use chrome

Maybe he was asking what you are making haha

Ok ok guys I will clean them out!

Haha I think it's rather cute of the client to say "stopped working this year"

@Ghosty I hate to be mean but I would rather see them die (or the people responsible for this madness to be fired) than patronize them with traffic. They are not just one of the bad websites, they are THE worst, if you multiply their brand value times the amount of evil things they do to their readers

Fortune.com is the most unfortunate one in this whole thing. I sometimes look at a fortune.com website link and pass, mistaking it for a Forbes.com link.

@linuxxx thanks!

What about c

The best trick I picked up as a programmer was start writing comments. It changed my life. I don't know why nobody told me this before. Just by commenting I became a 10 times better programmer

Hahaha first thought it was a real library 😂 good one 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 @norman70688

Someone should write a js library called "vanilla.js"
