Not a deadline but I once worked for a company that regularly asked for “accurate estimates” which I found hilariously oxymoronic

    Were they upset if something ended up taking way less time than the estimate?

    My college works for a company where if you underestimated work needed, you are not paid for extra time you spend on a ticket

    Multiply your gut feeling with Pi to get a "round" estimation. ;) In case you're done earlier, use the rest of the time to improve tests (or write tests at all ;))
