I must use windows at work and after 5 years of using mac I can say that windows is fucking loud, fucking beeps everywhere. Like you fucking do anything that has no results it’s beep - that’s fucking crazy I feel like I’m on some fucking road with assholes all over the place beeping on me.

I can work in silence on my mac, no software beeps by default.

Fucking Hell how can you listen to beep all day ?

You know that you can simply set the sound scheme to "no system sounds"?

@Fast-Nop yeah I figured that I can assign “Default Beep” sound to none but fuck me who the fuck wants to listen to this all day wrong, it’s like developer flag turned on.

Huh? I only hear sounds when I change the volume or get a notification. I have turned off most notifications. Either I am used to it or my experience is somehow different. Interesting.

I am running Windows 10 Pro. What are you running?

@Fast-Nop I am not sure I know how to actually do that (google i guess). I was kind of disappointed when windows dropped the jungle sound theme.

are the sounds in the room with us right now?

I miss being able to have a computer that made noise, and i'm not even that old. even so much as fan noise or any vibration at all is frowned upon nowadays. your computer SHOULD scream when you turn it on, because you apparently treat yours like shit. let your computer be social.

@Parzi you can play server room sound from youtube

@vane it's just not the same

@Parzi I don't miss computer rooms full of HDDs that sound like this https://youtube.com/watch/...
    At all.

@electrineer okay true, but when i have to jam something into my fans to tell if my laptop's frozen or off because they don't even vibrate at a detectable level it's an issue.

@Parzi well, obviously fans don't even need to be on for the laptop to be on so that's not a good way to find it out. Usually there's a status led somewhere.

@Parzi If your laptop freezes so often that this is a use case, then the problem is not its silence, but its frequent freezes in the first place.

@Fast-Nop tell that to HP/Dell/Lenovo, I just use the hardware, dude.
