tosensei8453340dnah, that's the life that awaits you because you care too much about money.
also, if your "project" is actually that valuable - just quit and go all-in. -
b2plane6389340d@tosensei thats what i was already doing. I went all in until this company contacted me on linkedin to offer me a job. Expecting to get rejected for 700th time i instead got accepted. Not wanting to get a job i got a job. Luck in bad luck
-
porksausages170340dyou do realise that you will have other different jobs in the future? i work 8am-4pm fully remote, leaving me with 6-7 free hours every day, you can too. maybe not right now, but the opportunities are out there.
-
devRancid648340dYou could just get up with a single alarm to gain 45 minutes more sleep or do literally anything else than wasting time
-
b2plane6389340d@devRancid if i do that then I'd be stunned, hit by a flashbang grenade every morning. While i am physically awake and moving my brain would be sleeping. I'd probably forget something on my way to the office. I' be just a walking dead. I need at least 30 min to break the sleep by torturing myself (i am a masochist who grew up by punishing/hurting self in order to force self to do what i dont enjoy)

saucyatom2467340dWell, my life as an apprentice:
0630 get up & eat
0700 leave
0800 arrive at work
1200 eat food ($$)
1300 back to work
1700 go back home
1800 arrive home, deal with life shit
2000 free time and 0 energy
2300 sleep
GOTO 0630
Get paid 500€ a month. With rent & transport you have about -100€ left. Eat rice+beans?
Things are much better now.. -
kiki35247340dMy life as an autistic bipolar CTO:
anywhere from 08:00 to 12:00: wake up
??:?? till ??:??: anxiety mixed with work
21:30: pills
22:00: sleep -
netikras34840339ddon't we all do that?
The pay is different depending on the armpit of the world we live in, but the routine is pretty much the same. It's tiring. But it pays the bills and, if you do it right, you get to have fun through the day.
Also, since this is your first job, you're building a portfolio -- low-paid job is OK. My first IT job was also in a huge bank and I was paid 700€/mo (that's what, 700/(8*20)~4€/hr?). These were great times because I had fun and I've gained lots of skills there that make me superior to my colleagues in several aspects in my current workplace.
Now I have my primary job and a side hustle that pays 7+x better (with the prospect of a client that would pay ~15+x my first salary); + my current employer's salary. All because I bit the bullet and focused on shaping my skills in my early days rather than money and the unfairness of the corps and the world in general
Point is, sit this one out, learn and grow your brain-muscles. It's a phase. -
b2plane6389339d@netikras its not my first job. Its my first job after graduating college. My first job was in 2016 right before i started college. In 2021 was my next job

saucyatom2467339d@kiki Sounds strangely familiar. But where do I get those magic pills that let me sleep at a regular time?
-
kiki35247339d@saucyatom my pills do slow me down, as they're designed to do so. Sleep, though… it's complicated. After I take them, I'll become really sleepy in about 20 minutes. BUT, if I miss it and stay awake, the sleepiness disappears, and I'm stuck in an involuntary quirksmode when I'm emotionally tired but physiologically active. That's Lamotrigine + Quetiapine combo for ya.
If you want sleepy pills that are over-the-counter, consider melatonin supplements, or using anti-allergy pills off-label to exploit their sleepiness side effect. I do the latter when I miss the sleep timing. -
UberSalt246339dSlave wage, going back to an empty home, wish for a cuddle buddy in this frigid cold, sleep, rinse and repeat :)

Exhaustion exponentially increased. Yawning. Eyes barely open. Extreme tiredness. Head movement started producing motion blur. Body just wants to shut down and sleep
10:00 pm
Start losing concentration while coding my side project. Start making stupid beginner bugs that i fail to debug
11:00pm
By this time i am barely functional so i have to go to bed. Sleep and repeat all of this bullshit every day

Is....this...the life thats awaiting me for the rest of my life if i dont earn millions asap? If so then i dont want it. I reject this type of life like satan rejects cross. I do not want to be a part of this clownery.
REALISTICALLY getting 2 hours per day of optimized time and energy to work on my project, is not enough. Even 8 hours a day is not enough. I need full time work on my project. Thats how valuable it is.
This job is draining me. I feel like i signed a contract with the devil to drain my soul. Fuck. Seems like all contracts we sign is the same shit as selling our soul for money? WTF think about this bullshit! Celebrities seem to be the smartest then. They sign contracts to perform satan rituals in exchange for MILLIONS of dollars while we sign a contract to work for satan and get paid $8.125 an hour like fucking losers.
I cant believe nobody warned me about this satanic society since i was a little kid
