This rant is about people's random shit in devrant, as a matter of fact, please let me remind you of the meaning of DEV-RANT:

- Dev : technical people only
- Rant : You should scream your guts out here

Memes, Adverts, slice of life, all these weirdo contents are not made for this platform, you have instagram for that ....

So please people. stop telling us that you have ADHD or that you sell some shit because we are supposed to be DEVS RANTING, and sharing our missfortune.

Dev rant is a place where we can vent out, and be comforted by your peers ...

Fuck you spammers !

  • 1
    @nebagec718 purpose ...
  • 3
    Nice rant. You're just jealous of dem meds
  • 2
    @workabit is it the purpose of devrant is ranting about our daily life problems as developers,asking questions related to cs career..if not, what is the purpose of devrant compared to blind app then ?
  • 1
    @retoor meds ???? i work for healthcare xD
  • 2
    @nebagec718 ranting about our daily life as devs, this is the purpose, at least since 2017 now if u guys changed that, let me know so i can fork it lol
  • 2
    @workabit fork what? Did you think this community is open source? 😁
  • 6
    I mean, is this what we talk about in DEV RANT ????

    FREAKING TOILET PAPER ???? even if there is an analogy to backlog wow it is so freakingly far fetched !
  • 1
    @retoor it is figure lol
  • 2
  • 2
    @retoor 1 rant he hates next, the next rant he loves it WTF is this retard lol

    i know his rants ...
  • 0
    @workabit everything I type just works. I don't have anything to rant
  • 1
    @workabit he doesn't have the meds 😁
  • 2
    @retoor ranting is not about your code not working, it is (among other things) your interaction with your environment as a developer.

    Don't tell me that people around you consider as a human, people around me consider me as a machine and i am fine with that, which is why i rant.

    Devs sometimes, are weirdos for society, and we all face the same issues at some point, social issues
  • 3
    @workabit sadly, times changed. I wish the devs were still nerds with social issues but these days normies became devs. That's how sad stuff as react became big, wrong choices
  • 1
    @retoor well, i can tell you true devs still exists, at least my team is 100% made of them xD

    we have fun deving on weekend lol

    Beer and Pizza parties on milestones, optional objectives on sundays, just having fun hacking around :D

    @workabit youtube,tiktok is full of videos of FAANG developers posting about their daily life living comfortable life, going to gym, socialising with friends, working less hours, eating free food, making a ton of money this push the new generation to attend bootcamp and follow cs field i guess
  • 1
    @retoor as a leader, i do my best to make it worth it for my team !
  • 0
    @workabit I was also the organiser :)
  • 2
    @nebagec718 i know ! and i also know it is 100% fake lol which sooooooo laughable.

    I heard frontend devs comparing themselfs to backend devs WTF lol

    Backend devs earn more, but only frontend do the showoff ... we don't have time for socializing, otherwise internet wouldn't work hah ah
  • 0
    @nebagec718 I have all those things too. You don't have to work for FAANG.

    Edit: I lied. I didn't socialise with friends for a long time
  • 1
    @retoor <3 <3 <3

    @workabit big corps turning frontend frameworks into beasts, what is your tech stack ?
  • 0
    @nebagec718

    Frontend -----------;

    backend ++++++++++++;

    NodeJs since i couldnt find a better alternative both front+back
  • 0
    @workabit what framework do you use for nodejs, and what is you db? don't say mongodb pleaaaseee
  • 0
    i am a fan of Quasar framework (built on vue.js)

    and i use any databases i want, usually i use both MYSQL (custom configs) and Mongodb (for public access to reduce computational burden (mysql is a computation hungry SOAB)
  • 0
    @workabit i take a look at quasar.dev and i feel like it is bloated framework, pwa, mobile,ssr,desktop,web !!!!
  • 0
    well, at least you can explicitly choose, and very easily.

    try it, and let me know :D

    if my OCDs are satisfied, then anyone should love it (almost ...)
  • 0
    @workabit maybe if i learn vuejs :D, what are you working on in your daily job ?
  • 0
    all kind of stuff, i am a lead tech for us company. would breach my NDA beyond that haha
  • 0
    @workabit are thinking to build a boring business one day -> retire -> enjoy your rest of life ?
  • 2
    @retoor whose toilet papers are those
  • 0
    @b2plane no idea, why ask me
  • 2
    you have 136 karma supposedly following devRant's purpose. I have 30k+ posting random shit.
  • 0
    @kiki who cares the karma ? is this platform another competition for you ?
  • 1
    I guess I could make fewer crochet posts 😅
  • 1
    @aviophille I guess I could continue to make crochet posts realizing there’s no way to please everyone? 🤣
  • 1
    i wish we could add reactions to posts !
  • 3
    @AmyShackles don’t!! They are so cute and ease my stress when I see them

    @workabit harshly labeling people who discuss non tech related things they go through as spammers wasn’t necessary, though I agree we do get alot of ads here. you can avoid non-tech related threads by filtering out threads tagged with random and joke/meme. Most threads (at least 90 percent) tagged with rant are what you want to see. It eases the stress to discuss things outside of tech with other people like us.
  • 3
    @AmyShackles NEVER quit.
  • 1
    @TeachMeCode what a waste of storage lol but yeah you are right about filtering
  • 1
    @workabit no problem man! the filter isn’t easy to find on my mobile app, pretty crappy UX to hide it behind the sort icon in the upper right corner.
  • 1
    @workabit storage is cheap
  • 0
    @nebagec718 depends of how much you earn per hour !
