How is it possible that nextjs developers could build a much more sophisticated web platforms than i do, much faster much more rapidly and easily and ship it to production for almost no costs, not even using any devops pipeline, unit or untegration testing, while i do all of that + devops and it costs me to pay for servers on aws?????

Literally what a nextjs developer can build in 1 month it would take me at least 3-4 months

    @jestdotty i think the problem for me is im a perfectionist so i waste too much time making sure everything works exactly the way i want even the ui must be perfect

    Experience, skill, talent.
    In that order.

    @Lensflare why is experience so valued? I saw devs with 10 years of experience barely having any fucking knowledge how to get the job done vs someone with 2 years experience doing it much more efficiently. Whats the fucking point. Years of Experience mean jack shit brother

    @b2plane so your argument is that you have found two sample points that do not perfectly represent the statistic, so the statistic must be wrong?

    @b2plane I don’t mean time-spent-at-company-experience but actual experience.

    @Lensflare ok my actual experience is over 8+ years and my time-spent-at-company experience is 9 months total in all of them, but nobody values my actual experience, they only value time-spent-at-company experience!

    @b2plane I also don’t mean time-spent-in-industry. Time spent in company or industry doesn’t directly translate to experience.
    And the unit of experience isn’t time (years).
    I know that recruiters and HR departments have their own definitions and that’s part of the problem.
