@jAsE Fair enough, except for fucking up stuff myself, Linux has been beyond stable for me while windows had been the way you're describing linux :P
-
rjedlin4517y@jAsE Ironically, I moved to Linux after Windows caused problems by trying to do stuff for me that broke the machine.
-
@jAsE mhh. well if you use ubuntu its your own fault, ifyou use arch its your own fault. Fedora was the most reliable ive had until now
-
rjedlin4517y@jAsE I know you think that, but the only issues I have ever had on Linux have been doing something stupid that I had to go out of my way to do or hard drive failure
-
@jAsE Well linux on its ovn isnt built to support gui. linux onlyis the Kernel and such it doesnt care about gui stuff - and it couldnteven fix embecause its not responsible for the gui.
The real problem are bad distros. And fedora is the best one - alongside arch, but thats hard to use on its own -
hjk10157317y@jAsE PXE boot fail and blaming Linux you are so out of your dept. Look it up and guess the common causes yourself... (Like network issues)
I'm a fairly happy Windows user but it's Linux that has proven more stable (bsod today and last week has been a while though). -
hjk10157317y@jAsE Erm you jumped to a really weird conclusion, I'm pointing out that if you do jump to a conclusion at least check out the common causes.
I realize I was unintentionally really harsh in my comment. I am sorry about that. I did not mean to make you sound ignorant or anything I have upvoted you many times and really don't want to fight with you as I respect you. Can't change my comment unfortunately. Please realize I was just trying to point out the flaw in your logic albeit very poorly. -
hjk10157317y@jAsE You are correct that especially boot problems are more common on Linux or even multiboot bootloader setups. I think I can call myself an expert and say I rarely encounter a problem of that kind that I can't explain (including uefi firmware that craps out because they use addresses that are just not used by Windows but still reserved in specs). That does not mean Windows has no advantage here; it clearly does especially considering everything gets tested on the consumer hardware at least.
Thanks for all the upvoting by the way 😀
