I have used Mac since 2011 and I have made statements about how Windows PCs sucks.
I had to buy a Windows-laptop for engineering school and I have experienced problem after problem after problem.

It took about a month to get the right computer (I ordered online and they missed to add an extra hard drive).

I had to return the second one after 10 days because it was not able to boot.
The third one I had to send to HPs repair place in Poland for a week, because the “X”-button” did not work properly.

I have not used the computer for a couple of weeks and now I was going to create an Android Studio-project and found out that the extra hard drive is missing! (Not physically missing, it does not show up)
When I bought the computer I had to portion the disk, but this time it is not showing up in that tool either...

Seems like you selected a really bad laptop or reseller. Not a problem by Windows or Microsoft.

It is an HP Laptop for $2000, it is unacceptable that it does need so much extra work.

It may not be Microsoft’s fault, but because I need to run Windows on the machine I think that all this PC/Windows world is a complex mass of different components that need to work perfectly. That is why I am a Mac-guy.

Buying anything HP was your only issue here.

@mossesandberg Why the hell would you spend $2k on an HP? Dell XPS 13 is the way to go if you're going to spend $2k. And why would you order it online? I drove an hour and a half to the nearest store to pick it up.

Yeah why didn’t you just bootcamp the mac? It’s been a while but that’s what I did on my older MacBook. You could pick up a dedicated SSD and bootcamp it for a 5th of that price.

My problem with BootCamp is my aspie-personality. I don’t like Windows and I don’t like to change components in a bought machine.

The reason I bought this computer is a long story:
I visited a local store in my town in may. Asked the staff for a good, not too expensive, laptop for software development that would last a couple of years. He showed me this HP ZBook G3 15U.
I waited too buy until August and at that point they did not have that computer in store. He did offer me the new G4-version for +500$ which was too high for me, but he also told me that the online store I bought the computer from had it still.

I use to think of HP as a good PC manufacturer, with Dell and Acer.

@mossesandberg understand. That’s trash that you’re having issues though. I was just looking at it from a costs standpoint. I don’t get why everyone has to be so opinionated on OS’s. Lol idc what other people use. I just prefer the experience from a Mac. And I have an iPhone so my workflow benefits.

@Nilo-jxn as daily device I only use Apple. Because I like how easy it is to use and how well it works together. That is why I get so frustrated when the PC does not work as easily.

What do you mean about the X button, is it the cross in the top right corner of a window?

@simo002m no, the key on the keyboard.

@mossesandberg good manufacturer and Acer? HP and Acer are about the same level of shittyness.
