I've been interviewing at a local company. They want that I (as the new FE dev) do monthly presentations to the whole company (50-ish) about the progress of our product.

This is the first time I heard this. I assume this is a red flag :(

Otherwise, the company looked good (except a company phone that would have been an iPhone)

    This isn’t a red flag 🚩. This is a red giant object in the sky.

    Huh, i don't get the issue at all. I would just do it. I also did the quarter meetings at a company and the results also were not always very good. Not my problem

    It's tricky, might be intended as a way for people to find out who you are. Express your reticence, see what they say?

    Not a FE responsibility but I guess the added social capital within the company can work out in your favour?

    It's like a scrum review but done bad

    @retoor

    yes, I do have a speech impediment that is currently quite fine but it does fluctuate quite a lot. That is what scares me especially talking in front of 50 people.

    The added stress would surely make it a lot worse

    I don't think making reports on the product will be bad once you do it a couple of times. I have had companies require that I show them how things are supposed to work on projects. A lot of the audience will not actually understand what you are showing anyway.

    Not a red flag, no. Just decide whether presentations are your thing. I personally would enjoy this.

    @Demolishun there is imo a big difference between showing it to your team and everyone in the company + investors
