2024 and Google Chrome cannot automatically upgrade http requests to https when Firefox has already been doing that for ages.

How come this google-lowest-monkey-coded browser is the most used????

    many chromium based browsers support it

    ?

    Chrome has been annoyingly enforcing http→https for me for the last few years already. I distinctly remember being annoyed by this 2 years ago.

    Are you talking about a different kind of proto upgrade?

    Weirdly, Chrome is one of the few browsers that I haven’t used yet.

    @netikras I mean it does whine about

    "This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS."

    With that much power one could argue Google would have better devs doing something that simple :/

    @feuerherz Ungoogled Chromium doesn't think the same :(

    Sadly this rant happened with a site that's meant for mortals, if it was entirely on me I would block anything non-firefox 😅

    @Lensflare I wish I was that lucky :(

    I actually hate that firefox does that. It messes up working with our hardware that doesn't use https.

    @ventgrey Logitech options software (not the G software) told me to use Chrome instead of Firefox to access a web interface. I was like really, wtf?
