Bit of a typo there. Should be "learn it and you'll always want to use anything else"

Oh I remember when this happened - the guy couldn't see what he had done wrong (assuming a woman had no clue, despite saying Comp.Sci prog on her bio). Went a bit far imho, he was harassed p. badly.

I know that Twitter is Twitter, but I see a lack of argumentations right there

@Floydian the reason why I dislike Java is because the syntax is not intuitive and it's very very wordy.

It's not that I cannot use Java it's just when I use it I want to punch a hedgehog.

Java n00b in to heroically fail at fending off the Java hating mob 😇

Why all the hate for Java? Sure, it's not as fast as C/C++ and closed source (I know about openjdk but it's not as complete above v8 last I checked), and it's not modern and flashy like (insert some modern language), but it works, and is pretty readable, isn't it?

When I look at C++ code it's much more verbose (which I understand is great for some applications), but reading Java is much easier (at least for me, maybe because I write much more in Java than in C++). Java also handles certain things (which can be a hindrance) which speeds up development time, which is good for business, is it not?

Anyone care to educate me on why Java is so terrible? I get it's not good for all scenarios, but I'd think for most it's a pretty good solution isn't it?

@nanoandrew4 mostly what the answer above you states - it's very verbose, and at least personally, I find the syntax... Odd.

@Floydian Java is a real mans programming language, all these script kiddos hatin. Other devs hate you and wanna be you, and the clients love you and wanna be with you.
