Wait till next week, you'll probably get a response. A lot of people are hung over at the moment.

@Demolishun > "exercise equipment"
Yea, I get that, I was curious what link between the game and the treadmill is doing.
My 2 second google search looks like a niche only for treadmills.
Wouldn't the game (or any software) have to send the specific commands to the exercise equipment? Ex. If you start running, the game would have to send 'Increase speed to 4' command.
Sad to say, unless the pron industry adopts and perfects the technology, I'll bet it'll die on the vine. -
@PaperTrail my main excitement is the fact that they are moving away from proprietary protocols. We can now create our own programs to integrate exercise equipment how we see fit (lol).

@Demolishun > "I write c++ plugins for skyrim for fun."
Nerd. :)
I looked into mods for the 'Total War' games, it's a different world of thinking as compared to writing business apps.
"Let me try to draw a tree, looking at this sample...10,000 lines of code!? Nope." -
Maybe I will just get something like this:
https://amazon.com/XTERRA-Fitness-S...
It says FTMS right in their advertisement. The other brand seems more sketchy anyway. -
So I got on this website and talked to their chat:
https://wellfittreadmill.com/produc...
They told me it does support FTMS and I can control the treadmill using that protocol. It is also on sale. -
So the vendor I contacted got back with me today and said they support the protocol. I had already found another device that supported the protocol and the features I wanted. It was $50 more, but had a better motor, warranty, and weight capacity.
edit: this is kind of neat that $100 exercise equipment now supports this protocol now.

Fucking exercise equipment vendors... I have contact at least 3 vendors to ask technical questions about their products and I NEVER get a reply. Do you not want to sell anything you gigantic ass fucks?!
It looks like these vendors are finally standardizing on a bluetooth communication protocol called FTMS. Apps and desktop software are using this protocol to allow all sorts of devices to just work with their software. So I asked a vendor today that connects to 2 competing software systems. Do you support FTMS protocol? Radio silence. Maybe they are in a different time zone on the other side of the planet. But what is the excuse of the other 2 companies?
BTW, FTMS is really cool. You can turn a tread mill on and off with it. I so want this connected to Skyrim.
