Idk youre gunna need to have at least 16gb of RAM to run any modern linux distros. Id definately look into Solaris 2.1

@octothorpe That really doesn't add up to the narrative ive seen literally everywhere else.
I've had 4 people in the last 3 days tell me I definitely need to put Linux on it because of it's age. Also, I've read in multiple places that you should boot up a Linux distro once it starts to slow down as it ages. -

I'm soon going to be crossing the path into the world of Linux with my first install.
So here's my device specs:
Toshiba Satellite L755-S5256
RAM: 4GB
CPU: i3-2310 (2.1ghz)
I use the device to stream movies and TV onto my TV (through HDMI cord) since the TV can't connect to the internet.
Any suggestions for a simple and light weight distro I could use? Thanks everyone in advance!
