@Demolishun I'm just being facetious, of course I get it. In a sense you aren't paying 300 bucks for a few gigs of sound recordings. You are paying for the expertise of the people, the sound equipment, the opportunity to even drive that car, recording it, mixing it, cleaning it up, labeling it properly
I get that. But there still is that feeling of paying over 300 bucks for essentially 20 seconds of recording that's relevant to my usecase lol -
@12bitfloat yeah, the right data at the right time can make or break a project. Kinda wild a few bits can change everything.

you mean most overpriced maybe? pretty sure a regular visit at the dentist costs more than that. my glasses were always 600$. then it's like, have you never bought a laptop or desktop? those tend to be in the thousands. car? house?
my rent is more than that. I guess that's rent-seeking and not buying an object. but neither do you own any of your videogames and probably a bunch of software if you've shelled out cash for
... most money I ever spent was on crypto tho. it worked out
overpriced? experimental buying of things just to try them. like this 50$ electric kettle was a damned piece of shit. the same exact kettle with a different branding was sold at another store for 30$. the power button broke in under a month. it came with year warranty and as is tradition warranty is a scam. would cost more to "ship it for repairs", and its clear the actual product is built faulty to begin with... -
Imagine paying to hear the noise of a car. At least go for something cool like the sounds of a nuclear plant.

Most expensive thing you ever bought?
I think I just bought about 20 seconds of relevant audio recordings for over 300€ 🙃
But hey, the virtual car has to sound good or whatever... totally not a painful investment...
