  • 1
    @linuxxx this is fine. everything is fine.

    I read redbubble and thought I was at work for a second and such a nice shirt I want
  • 1
    @linuxxx the second one is too much for a kid like me to handle 😨
  • 3
    Hey, can you send me a quick message on Signal? My replacement phone came, and I pretty much lost all my contacts and everything.
  • 1
    @Michelle wow. You didn't async with your apple or Google account?😨
  • 2
    @sunfishcc
    Nope. I mean, I wasn't able to predict the future, and know that my phone was able to break.
  • 1
    @Michelle normally the uploading contact and photos to cloud server settings are switched on by default these days
  • 2
    @sunfishcc
    I'm pretty sure Signal doesn't do that.
  • 1
    @Michelle never used apps like signal, tbh ... I'm such a noob 🀦‍♂️
  • 1
    @sunfishcc
    It's all about preferences. Not using Signal doesn't make you a noob at all.
  • 1
    @Michelle Too sad, I don't know who I can talk to. So I don't try the apps labelled as communication anymoreπŸ˜“
  • 2
    @sunfishcc
    You can always talk to the devRanters. :)

    @Linuxxx
    Sorry, we hijacked your rant lol.
  • 1
    @Michelle that's exactly what am doing
  • 1
    @Michelle Signal ask for permission and if given uploads your contacts to its servers. But, they are saved as bcrypt hashes, thus making it quite useless for intruders...
  • 1
    @sunfishcc And no I don't sync anything. I don't want any data ending up in Google's hands :)
  • 0
    @linuxxx is it even possible?
    From Mozilla radio, I know a man ask people to tag him on random objects. So over times, Google completely loss track on who he is or what he is.
    Have you done the same thing? Or are you him? 😨
  • 1
    @sunfishcc I'm not him haha but I don't entirely understand what you mean? :)
    I'm that one person who blocks anything google/fb etc from his pc!
  • 0
    @linuxxx the idea is there's no way to stop Google and Facebook watching you.
    A variable strategy could be intentionally upload huge amount false data.
    So when you real private data exposed, Google won't know It's real.
    I just leant this 10 mins ago. So forgive me if I don't get this right.
  • 1
    @sunfishcc Well except for the publicly accessible information, how will they learn about you if you block the shit out of them? Genuine question :)
  • 0
    @linuxxxthe beside I don't think you can stop Microsoft, Apple and Google tracking you. Google is using graduation photos for face recgnition training, and that's approved by multiple universities in US.
    You got fill some sort of forms in somewhere, aws, Firebase for example.
    The less footprint you leave, the clearly they could see who you are.

    Just my opinion Btw.
  • 1
    First part - good one. Second part doesn't make sense to me :) @sunfishcc
  • 0
    @bitsnpieces I got a third one but that's personal music style related :)
  • 1
    @linuxxx you never buy thing from Amazon? Google play store? Don't have Microsoft account? Or even credit card? 😨 Wow
  • 0
    @sunfishcc Nope haha, don't have a Google/MS/amazon account and i don't like credit cards anyways :P
  • 0
    @sunfishcc If I'd go to google.com at home, I'd get a pihole screen saying that its wildcard-blocked ;)

    @linuxxx it sounds the situation in China where even an 8 years old child can use VPN😏

    @linuxxx @Alice Im starting to worry about using bit torrent at home πŸ˜–

    I just have to:
    I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
    Bla bla bla... You got it
